  • Patent number: 4776310
Abstract: An assembly for locking together in sliding relationship a yoke with a sliding block with one of the walls of a crankcase and having a channel apparatus isolated from the crankcase volume throughout rotation of the crankshaft for transmitting lubricant from an aperture in one of the walls of the crankcase via the yoke to lubricate the sliding block and crankthrow.

  • Patent number: 4598672
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has means for stabilizing the position of a yoke and piston during the reciprocating movement. A pressure source transmits a force to one side of yoke to maintain the yoke in constant contact with a bearing surface on the wall of the crankcase, at the same time, the pressure source causes lubrication to be continually transmitted to a sliding block within the yoke at all positions of the crankshaft to lubricate the bearing between the crank throw and sliding block and the bearings between the sliding block and yoke to minimize wear during extended use. The yoke and piston are further stabilized in their reciprocating motion by a peg and ring configuration, one of which is mounted to the crankcase and the other mounted to the yoke. Twist of the yoke and piston about the cylinder axis is prevented by channels in the crankcase wall within which the yoke edges slide.

  • Patent number: 4584972
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has a cylinder with a first axis, a piston housing therein and connected to a yoke housing having a sliding block within a slot in the yoke which slot is curved about a center of curvature with the concave side of the slot facing away from the combustion chamber and offset from the vertical axis of the combustion chamber, the curve's radius being such as to provide a power stroke having a time period which exceeds the time period of a compression stroke.

  • Patent number: 4134049
Abstract: When a stacker motor slows down before stopping or reversing, it generates an error signal the polarity of which is detected by a sensing circuit which is optically coupled to a motor reversing circuit. If the detected error signal is positive, a first set of LED's in the sensing circuit are illuminated and trigger associated photo-sensitive transistors in the reversing circuit, which in turn energize selected pairs of back-to-back SCR's to connect the lines of a polyphase power source in a "forward" drive direction to the windings of the stacker motor in question, so that the motor is driven in a forward direction. When the error signal is negative, different LED's in the sensing circuit are illuminated and energize different transistors in the reversing circuit so that the motor is driven in the opposite or reverse direction. Inhibiting devices are employed in the reversing circuit to prevent undesirable shorting out of lines upon sudden motor reversal.
