Abstract: A dental restoration putty and method of fabricating and allying the dental restoration is used to repair/replace a damaged or missing section of an individual's tooth or other area of dentition. The putty that is produced and utilized is an admixture of a colorant with a base material. The colorant of the putty functions to alter the color/appearance of a dental restoration to accurately match the color of an individual's existing tooth or teeth.

Abstract: Putty compositions having colorants incorporated therein to provide materials useful in a dental laboratory or operatory for a variety of functions including manufacture of dental restorations, the invention facilitates inter alia the staining of the restorations to desired shades for maximum cosmetic effect.

Abstract: A process for applying an opaque covering to the metal casting to a metal - ceramic restoration comprising mixing powdered opaque porcelain with molten wax, heating the resultant mixture to a temperature approximately 2.degree. to 5.degree. C. above the melting point of the wax and applying the heated mixture to a metal casting base of the dental restoration.
