  • Patent number: 8925409
Abstract: A positioning apparatus converts linear movement along a first axis into either linear movement along another axis or rotational movement. The apparatus includes a fixed element and one or more moveable elements which are moveable relative to the fixed element. A first guide element is attached to the fixed element and a second guide element is attached to the moveable element. An adjustment mechanism, which is associated with the first and second guide elements, is moveable relative to the fixed element along a first axis, and movement of the adjustment causes movement of the moveable element.

  • Patent number: 6590723
Abstract: An adjustable mounting structure comprising a first mounting plate, a second mounting plate adjustably fixed to a first mounting plate and in facing engagement with the first mounting plate, a pivot ball having a hole formed therethrough, the first and second mounting plates pivotable about the pivot ball, and a spring fixed to the first mounting plate at a first end and fixed to the second mounting plate at a second end, the spring passing through the hole formed through the pivot ball.

  • Patent number: 5516113
Abstract: The invention is a target system capable of determining projectile entrance by detecting loss resistors formed by a graphic colloidal suspension coating of conductive ink placed beneath a graphic target. The target is a low cost sheet of flexible paper positioned by use of a tractor feeder. Actual loss of resistors is interpreted by a microprocessor running a grid simulation program. Upon loss of any one particular resistor, the microprocessor interprets the target to determine what resistors remain thereby providing a history of projectile penetration. The results of the target penetration can be viewed from a remote video display terminal.

  • Patent number: 5039043
Abstract: A post holder is provided with a breaking arrangement to hold a post without application or external force even under the influence of gravity. In the preferred embodiment, a post holder is provided with a shoe which contacts the post. The shoe is urged toward the post with a spring, in the preferred embodiment a single convolution spring. Preferably, the shoe has a relatively large face area contacting the post, thereby provide more positive locking of the post relative to the post holder with the application of lesser external force. Ideally, the spring applies sufficient force on the shoe that the post does not move under the force of gravity. In operation, the user may remove the external force, move the post relative to the post holder, and reapply an external locking force, at any time the post being supported by the breaking arrangement. In this way, the user may move the post relative to the post holder with a single hand.

  • Patent number: 4984740
Abstract: An improved water-sprinkler having a vertically-pivotal control flap that is adjustably positionable with respect to the outlet of the nozzle, which controls the distances the emerging water-stream will reach. The control flap has an inner bracket-end that is pivotally mounted to a pivot block at the lower end of the bracket end, the upper part of the bracket-end being pivotally connected to a distal end of a control arm that is horizontally-adjustable via a series of circularly-arranged, independently and horizontally-movable sliding reeds or blocks, the distance of these sliding blocks from their radial center determining the horizontal position of the other end of the control arm, and, therefore, the end of the control arm connected to the upper end of the flap, whereby the spacing of the flap from the nozzle-outlet may be cyclically changed according to a desired pattern determined by the relative radial positions of the plurality of sliding blocks.
