  • Patent number: 5398622
Abstract: A dual worksurface support is provided for electronic data processing equipment and the like, and includes two separate worksurfaces adapted to support different pieces of equipment thereon. The worksurfaces are interconnected by a linkage assembly which permits vertical adjustment of one of the worksurfaces with respect to the other, and includes left and right hand linkages located at the opposite sides of the respective worksurfaces, which rotate about at least one horizontal pivot axis. A rigid stabilizer bar has its opposite ends fixedly connected with the two linkages at locations concentric with the horizontal pivot access, such that rotation of one of the linkages is transmitted through the stabilizer bar to the other linkage to ensure that the opposite sides of the adjusted worksurface move vertically together without sagging or binding.

  • Patent number: 5385039
Abstract: A lock for furniture includes a plunger assembly for actuating a lock mechanism. The plunger assembly includes a reader for receiving a control signal from a key. The plunger assembly includes a curved surface for contacting a lock rod such that the plunger assembly requires a constant force to move the lock rod through its range of motion to a locked position. A catch assembly secures the plunger, and hence the lock rod, in a locked position. A solenoid shifts the catch assembly to release the plunger assembly. The lock assembly may also include a lever connected at one end to the catch assembly and having a counterweight on an opposite end.

  • Patent number: 5322025
Abstract: An adjustable dual worksurface support is provided for electronic data processing equipment and the like, and comprises a freestanding pedestal, and a generally U-shaped first worksurface having a front surface shaped to support a keyboard thereon, and two side surfaces extending rearwardly from opposite sides thereon to define a central open area. A second worksurface is provided to support a display thereon, and has a plan shape similar to that of the central open area of the keyboard worksurface for close reception therein. The keyboard worksurface is vertically adjustable with respect to the floor, preferably between sitting and standing positions, and the display worksurface is vertically adjustable with respect to the keyboard worksurface, preferably to positions both above and below the same to accommodate various users and tasks.
