Abstract: Short chain carbamoyl derivatives of long chain aliphatic amines, wherein the amino nitrogen is attached to a non-terminal methylene group, useful as non-yellowing softening and antistatic agents for laundered fabrics, detergent compositions containing an effective softening and antistatic amount of said carbamoyl derivative and a method of softening and protecting fabrics against acquiring static electricity by contacting fabrics with said composition during laundering. These compounds provide softening and antistatic protection without reducing optical brightener performance and detergency performance of the detergent composition.

Abstract: Novel methanesulfonamides useful as non-yellowing antistatic agents for laundered fabrics, detergent compositions containing an effective anti-static amount of said methanesulfonamide and a method of protecting fabrics against acquiring static electricity by contacting fabrics with said composition during laundering. These compounds provide antistatic protection without reducing optical brightener performance of the detergent composition.This invention relates to novel antistatic agents and detergent compositions to be used in the laundering of fabrics containing said antistatic agent which is a nitrogen substituted methansulfonamide having the formula:RNHSO.sub.2 CH.sub.3wherein R is a secondary aliphatic hydrocarbon chain of at least 8 carbons.

Abstract: Quaternary ammonium alkylene diphosphonates useful as stain-inhibiting, anti-calculus agents, compatible with cationic antimicrobials; the process of preparing said quaternary ammonium diphosphonates; and compositions containing an effective anti-calculus amount of said quaternary diphosphonate admixed with a dental or oral carrier. These compounds are particularly effective in inhibiting tooth staining caused by cationic antimicrobials.

These compounds are effective in controlling dental plaque without producing an esthetically unacceptable discoloration of tooth surfaces.
