In an embodiment, a mobile bug receives a request to establish a one-way communications session, and responsively transmits data to a database for storage while refraining from storing the transmitted data subsequent to the transmission of the data. The mobile bug detects a deterioration in the one-way communications session that prevents, at least in part, the transmission of the data. Responsive to detecting the deterioration, while the deterioration is detected, the mobile bug stores the data in an encrypted format.
