  • Publication number: 20140296746
Abstract: A urine flow measuring apparatus that includes a container for receiving urine, measuring means for measuring the weight and/or volume of urine received by the container, and memory means for recording the weight and/or volume measured by the measuring means. Through a controller the measuring means: continually measures the weight and/or volume of the container at regular sampling intervals; and at each sampling interval, identifies if a positive change in the weight and/or volume of the container has occurred and then compares results within a data set, the data set including a result from the current sampling interval and results from all the sampling intervals during a given period. If a number of sampling intervals indicating a positive change in the weight and/or volume is above a certain threshold, the memory means is instructed to begin recording data, else the memory means is instructed to cease recording data.

  • Publication number: 20070184566

  • Publication number: 20070145099
Abstract: A particle identification detector of airborne particles of interest is contained in a battery operated 4?×4?×1.5? box. Air is drawn through an internal chamber for analysis by pinging a sampling pad along the chamber with scanning microsecond bursts varying from 2 to 4 gHz. Resultant emf rings received from the particles by the pad are amplified and their amplitudes measured and stored in tables vs frequency of the ping thus forming signature profiles for particles of interest. Correlations between unknown measured profiles and tables of known profiles are used for particle identification. The box may be opened permitting the chamber to be cleaned. When used with hazardous material, the box may be placed in a clean room with wireless communications to a service computer located outside the room.

  • Publication number: 20070025494
Abstract: A neutrino telescope is made up of four devices. A neutrino modulating device velocity modulates neutrinos passing through a thin walled steel tube. This encodes the neutrinos as being different than any neutrinos found in nature. The steel tube is electrically driven to its lengthwise resonant frequency. A directive steel tube can be added, as a second device, to restrict neutrinos passing into the telescope and the directional resolution thus improved. A third device uses a barium titanate cylinder to detect forces from modulated neutrinos. An analog circuit filters and amplifies the signal as necessary. An oscilloscope can be used to measure and study the output. A fourth device uses a Blackfin processor to provide digital processing and a service computer for further processing and studying results over periods of time.

  • Publication number: 20060247133
Abstract: A string of super-dense carbon atoms forms a superconductor unaffected by temperature changes over a wide range. Using molecular beam epitaxy technology, a number of such carbon atomic strings are connected in parallel and encased in a plastic which forms nanotubes around each string having a negatively charged inner surface on each tube formed. The superconducting electrons travel in the cylindrical space between the inside of the nanotubes and the outside of the carbon strings. Cables carrying 20,000 amperes of electric current and withstanding 81,300 pound pull are projected. Strings connect to super-dense diamond plates at the two ends of a cable which plates both carry electric current and carry the pulling force. Superconducting belts excite iron pipes sending sparks into storm clouds for withdrawing energy from the clouds.

  • Publication number: 20060133454
Abstract: Intersil HFA processors are used to form peer to peer communications between IEDs in an electric power substation as well as between any IED and a substation access port. IEDs are identified by an 9 bit station identification code for up to 255 IED and a final 9 bit code is given to the access port. Communications is initiated by sending an 9 bit code for a station called followed by an 9 bit code for the station calling. Error checking bits are added to initiating codes forming packets. When a called station receives an error free packet an acknowledgement is sent establishing a peer to peer channel over which bi-directional messages are sent. Longer station identification codes are used to form larger communications systems. Both permanent and movable hubs are used to quickly form large area peer to peer networks in response to an emergency. GPS receivers are used to identify peers and hubs on DeLorme maps. The system in independent of availability of electric power or the internet.

  • Publication number: 20060100107
Abstract: A string of carbon 14 atoms forms a superconductor unaffected by temperature changes from absolute zero to the burning point of carbon. A number of carbon 14 atomic strings are connected in parallel and encased in a plastic which forms tubes around each string having a negatively charged inner surface on each tube formed. The superconducting electrons travel in the cylindrical space between the inside of the nanotubes and the outside of the carbon 14 strings. Quarter inch diameter cables carrying 10,000 amperes of electric current and withstanding a million pound pull are projected strings connect to C12 diamond rods at the two ends of a cable both for carrying electric current and for carrying the pulling force.

  • Publication number: 20050159496
Abstract: One or more external surfaces of an extruded foam are coated by co-extruding a skin of polymer on the surface to reduce the diffusion the foaming gases out of the cells of the solidifying polymer foam. The sealing effect can involve coating one side of the extruded foam (AB foam) or both sides (ABA form). The skins can be solid or foamed. Alternatively, a cylinder is formed from an annular die and, preferably, a cylindrical cooling mandrel. By extruding and drawing the cylinder of foam onto a cooled cylindrical mandrel, which expands the diameter of the cylinder, the optimum physical properties of the structure can be achieved. This is because the foam structure is stretched in longitudinal and lateral directions. Preferable, the foaming polymer has “inherent melt strength” and “strain hardening” so that the foam cells are more consistent in size and shape. The preferred polymers are polypropylene or polystyrene.

  • Publication number: 20020169863
Abstract: A software simulation system and method that improves repeatability in simulations of computer and electrical apparatuses where a messaging broker control process acts as an intermediary between one or more servers and one or more clients associated with each server. In one embodiment, the control process resides as a stand alone system from the servers and clients it regulates, and stops the servers upon each of them reaching a synchronization point. In addition, the control process orders messages received from servers to deliver to clients in a predetermined manner, using a timestamp system maintained by the control process for all user specified events.

  • Patent number: 4031373
Abstract: A velocity computing chronograph includes a chain of BCD counter stages having a clock input signal gated via the outputs from a pair of spaced apart photo-electric screens for measuring the time of flight of a bullet between the screens. BCD coded numerical switches are provided for the manual entry of the distance between the screens. A multiplexer serially applies the BCD digit signals first from the numerical switches and thereafter from the counter stages to the BCD data digit input of an integrated circuit calculator chip. The calculator circuit has divide and equal command input terminals which are driven automatically at appropriate times for the projectile velocity to be computed in the calculator circuit and display on an LED display driven thereby.
