  • Publication number: 20230137005
Abstract: A tracheostomy tube (1) has a shaft (10, 10) including a helical reinforcing wire (30) overmoulded by a plastics material, such as of silicone. The wire has an indented path (31) traversing its turns in which is received a small-bore tube (32) so that this does not project above the surface of the shaft, or only forms a small projection. The small-bore tube (32) acts as an inflation line and opens at its patient end (33) within a sealing cuff (13). The machine end of the tube (32) is terminated by a combined inflation indicator and connector (36).

  • Publication number: 20060103854
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a non-contact method for measuring the surface profile of an object that can include generating a point-type optical signal and projecting it on a rotatable precision optical grating, generating a rotating pattern of light and dark lines onto the object, recording a series of images of the rotating pattern moving across the object with an image receiving device and calculating the surface profile of the object. Other embodiments can include a method to calibrate the system and a non-contact apparatus that generally includes a point-type light source, a rotatably mounted optical grating being configured to project a moving grating image on the object, a processor in communication with the image capturing device and configured to receive image input from the image capturing device and generate a surface profile representation of the object therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4794409
Abstract: An ink jet pen (or other similar fluid delivery system) wherein primary and secondary ink reservoirs and an ink jet printhead are all interconnected by way of a porous ink-transfer member. The ink will pass directly from the primary ink reservoir to the printhead under a normal or predetermined range of temperatures and pressures. However, for temperatures and pressures outside this range, the secondary reservoir will be brought into operation to give or receive ink to or from the porous ink transfer member and thereby serve to maintain a substantially constant backpressure at the printhead.
