Patent number: 9309995Abstract: A low profile downspout extension is formed in multiple segments including a flexible conduit, a splash block and an extension. The splash block transitions from a circular inlet into a low profile pentagon configuration with a central bead along the top surface of the low profile body portion to define an apex of the pentagon shape. The body portion is wider than the diameter of the circular inlet but has a height at the central bead that is more than half the diameter of the circular inlet. The body portion has ribbed side walls to strengthen the splash block without requiring internal reinforcement. The bottom surface of the splash block defines a flow path that extends generally linearly from the bottom of the inlet opening to the bottom of the pentagon-shaped outlet. An open configuration for the splash block provides an alternative above-ground splash pad structure.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: Euramax International, Inc.Inventor: Robert Benjamin Bell

Patent number: 8832999Abstract: A gutter screen assembly in having a screen across the ends of channels that extend into a gutter to prevent large debris from being washed from the channels into the gutter. The screen may be fabricated of expanded metal with a solid peripheral edge or of numerous other materials and structures.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2013Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Euramax International, Inc.Inventors: Robert Benjamin Bell, James Ronald Wilson, II, Heath Morgan

Publication number: 20140196400Abstract: A hidden gutter hanger mounts a rain gutter to the roof structure of a building. The end of the gutter hanger adjacent the building fascia is formed with multiple vertically folded portions that establish a strong end mounting structure for fastening the gutter hanger to the fascia. The folded end portions are formed with aligned holes that create a guided fastener structure having minimal longitudinal depth that allows a greater percentage of the guided fastener to be inserted into the building fascia. The distal end of the gutter hanger is formed with a mounting tab that engages the forward lip of the rain gutter such that the gutter hanger is positioned internally of the rain gutter. The body portion of the gutter hanger extending between the distal end and the end adjacent the fascia is formed with a central longitudinal rib to strengthen the hanger against vertical sagging.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2013Publication date: July 17, 2014Applicant: Euramax International, Inc.Inventor: Robert Benjamin Bell

Publication number: 20120285115Abstract: A gutter cover is formed through expanded metal manufacturing techniques to create alternating areas of solid metal and diamond-shaped openings to facilitate the shedding of leaves while passing water into the gutter. The gutter cover is mounted without fasteners by securing a hook portion underneath the front lip of the gutter and arcing the body portion of the gutter cover to press the rearward drip foot against the gutter and the drip hip adjacent to the fascia board into a pressure fit. The length of the gutter cover from the rearward edge to the front end being slightly longer than the corresponding length of the gutter structure. The gutter cover includes an integral drip leg projecting downwardly from the drip hip and being formed with an area of expanded metal diamond-shaped apertures to direct water into the gutter trough. A front drip lip directs water away from the gutter face.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2012Publication date: November 15, 2012Inventor: Robert Benjamin Bell
