  • Patent number: 8600684
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining the identity of a microfluidic device and a home position by means of a set of home position marks on the microfluidic device, which is of the type used in a microfluidic system. Said method comprises following phases: a microfluidic device scanning phase, wherein a microfluidic device is scanned for mark identifiers; a microfluidic device identifying phase, wherein at least one a characteristic feature of the set of home marks is/are determined and used for identifying the identity of the microfluidic device; a home position determining phase, wherein the home position is determined by the use of at least a subset of the home position marks identified during said previous phases. The present invention relates to a set of home marks, a microfluidic device carrying such a set of home marks, a microfluidic system, a computer program product and a computer program on a computer usable medium.

  • Publication number: 20070009393
Abstract: A microfluidic device having a plurality of microchannel structures and a memory. The memory may be writeable with restriction for unauthorized access. Yet further, the memory can be information about positions of non-redundant or redundant microchannel, information relating to positions for interfacing the microchannel structures with the macroworld, or supplemental information relating to process protocols that are allowed for the microchannel structures of the device.

  • Patent number: 6728644
Abstract: The invention can be described as a Method Handler (MH), which consists of several parts used to check and create different methods for microfluidic instruments. The part that creates methods can be called the Method Editor (ME). It is used to create a scheme of operations that together with the instrument builds up an application for a specific disc type. MH also checks if a method is executable on a specific instrument. This is done in a part called Batch Run (BR).
