  • Patent number: 9914489
Abstract: An underbody stiffening and covering module is provided, which has a flat, non-load-bearing covering component made from a plastic material. At least one reinforcing strut is connected firmly to the covering component, the reinforcing strut extends along a predetermined load path and has a respective connection device on its end sections, with which, together with the covering component, is able to be connected to a predetermined underbody section at force application points.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 5, 2014
Date of Patent: March 13, 2018
    Assignee: Daimler AG
    Inventors: Robert Bjekovic, Asmir Salkic

  • Patent number: 7147738
Abstract: A process for producing a component with an inner fabric includes layering at least two layers of fabric one on top of the other. A layer of plastic in powder form or sheet form is introduced between respective pairs of neighboring layers of fabric. The plastic has a melting point corresponding to at most the melting point and/or the decomposing temperature of the fabric layers. The fabric layers and plastic layer are heated and pressed at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure, during which the plastic layer is at least partially melted. After reaching the desired final form, the partially-melted plastic is cooled, thereby bonding the fabric layers to one another. The cooled plastic is arranged between the layers of fabric and, in particular, at least partially between the fibers of the fabric layers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 9, 2001
Date of Patent: December 12, 2006
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG
Inventors: Robert Bjekovic, Konrad Eipper, Bruno Möltgen, Jörn Roth, Markus Vennemann
  • Publication number: 20040118504
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a composite material having orientated thermoplastics and non-orientated thermoplastics or only orientated thermoplastics and a three-dimensional component manufactured using the composite material. The composite material is heated to a temperature level above the stress-free melting point of the higher-melting thermoplastics. A mechanical stress is applied within the composite material using a device for holding the composite material in order to temporarily raise the melting point of the orientated thermoplastics during shaping, thus ensuring the component quality.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: June 24, 2004
