Patent number: 6402036Abstract: A smart card reader (100) has a housing (2) with contact elements (3) fixed in the housing, which are resiliently biased into a space into which the smart card is slid. When released, the contacts (3) move into the space to make electrical contact with areas on the smart card now inserted. The contacts are held out of the space by a pivot member (4) which is actuated by a cover (5) which is slidably mounted in the housing. The cover, pushed inward by the inserted card, moves the pivot member. Thus there is no contact until the card is in position.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1998Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics GmbHInventor: Robert Bleier

Patent number: 5837984Abstract: The invention is related to a SMT-reader for SIM-cards and standard cards, where in a contact block is used. The contact block is mounted by means of soldering to a circuit board and contacting said circuit board in accordance with surface mounting technology (SMT). A card guide means disposed separate from the contact block and adapted to guide the SIM card or standard cards.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1995Date of Patent: November 17, 1998Assignee: Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics GmbHInventors: Robert Bleier, Manfred Reichardt
-
Patent number: 5796085Abstract: The invention is directed to a chip card reader with a housing, a guide track built into the housing for receiving a chip card as well as a contact carrier on the side of the housing, the contacts thereof being able to contact corresponding contacts of the chip card in the read position of the chip card in the housing.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1996Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Assignee: Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics GmbHInventor: Robert Bleier
-
Patent number: 5796093Abstract: The invention relates to a housing for receiving a chip card, especially a SIM card, into a hand telephone.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1996Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Assignee: Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics GmbHInventors: Manfred Reichardt, Robert Bleier
-
Patent number: 5640307Abstract: The invention concerns a chip card reader with a housing (10), a guideway (12) provided in the housing (10) for holding a chip card (14), a contact carrier (26), located on the housing, and a locking element (16) which latches behind the chip card in the read position, the locking element consisting of an L-shaped arm.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1996Date of Patent: June 17, 1997Assignee: Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics GmbHInventors: Robert Bleier, Manfred Reichardt, Bernd Schuder

Patent number: 5370544Abstract: A chip card reader includes a frame, reading contact elements, and an end position switch which includes two switching contact elements arranged to either close or open upon reaching of the reading position by a chip card. The contact elements are identical in both the arrangement in which the elements open to indicate reaching of the reading position by the chip card and the arrangement in which the elements close to indicate reaching of the reading position by the chip card. The frames may also be identical in the opener arrangement and the closer arrangement.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1994Date of Patent: December 6, 1994Assignee: Amphenol Tuchel Electronics GmbHInventors: Manfred Reichardt, Robert Bleier

Patent number: 5369259Abstract: A chip card reader comprises a contact support and a card receiver. The card receiver can be moved back and forth in the contact support so that, when a chip card is inserted in the card receiver, the card receiver is moved (lowered), together with the card, toward the contacts in the contact support.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1993Date of Patent: November 29, 1994Assignee: Amphenol CorporationInventors: Robert Bleier, Hans G. Hubner

Patent number: 5334827Abstract: A chip card reader comprises a contact support (2) in which are arranged read contact springs (17) and an end position switch in the form of switch contact springs (21, 22) which indicates the operating mode. The read contact-springs contact regions of a chip card (13) inserted in a read position in the chip card reader. In its operating mode in the read position of the card, the end position switch acts approximately perpendicular to the direction of insertion (20) of the card. Hence, in the read position, no component of force is produced which would act in the direction opposite to that of insertion of the card.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1992Date of Patent: August 2, 1994Assignee: Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics GmbHInventors: Robert Bleier, Manfred Reichardt
