Patent number: 8462589Abstract: A seismic system has a plurality of seismic sources. Each of the seismic sources includes a reaction mass movable with respect to a geological structure and includes an actuator moving the reaction mass. The movement of the reaction mass emits a source signal as seismic energy into the geological structure. In the system, each of the source signals is generated from a base vibratory signal segmented into a plurality of segments, where the base vibratory signal sweeps from an initial frequency to a final frequency. Each of the segments has a partition of sweep frequencies different from the other segments. Each of the source signals has a distinguishing arrangement of the segments different from the other source signals.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2009Date of Patent: June 11, 2013Assignee: Inova Ltd.Inventors: Gary A. Publication number: 20060143522Abstract: An hardware emulation environment is disclosed wherein software execution is accelerated by switching memory and/or peripheral and clock implementation from the hardware emulator toga faster running processor board coupled to the hardware emulator. A switch is positioned between the hardware emulator and a processor running on the processor board. A design block implemented on a dedicated resource, such as memory or a peripheral, is located on the processor board and is designed to functionally mimic a design block modelled in programmable resources in the hardware emulator. In one embodiment, a user selectively configures a switch to accelerate the software execution by choosing a trigger event, such as a memory range or a software breakpoint. Upon detecting the trigger event, the switch switches the clock and/or bus routing so that the processor communicates directly with the design block on the processor board, rather than with a functionally equivalent design block in the hardware emulator.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2004Publication date: June 29, 2006Inventors: Hans Multhaup, Robert Bloor, Duaine Pryor

Patent number: 6418379Abstract: This invention provides a method for analyzing and compensating for the deleterious effects of irregular illumination of the subsurface due to velocity variations in the subsurface and of irregular spatial sampling of seismic data. For a processing operator, like Kirchoff migration for seismic data, a conventional migration operation is carried out. The output points are analyzed for sampling artifacts caused by irregular surface sampling of the data and those due to ray path distortions. An inverse sampling operator or a filtering operator is determined that is related to dip dependent attributes at the image location. Application of the inverse sampling operator or filtering operator along with the migration or other processing operator to the seismic data compensates for the effects of irregular sampling and of raypath distortion.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2000Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Assignee: WesternGeco, L.L.C.Inventors: Robert Bloor, Uwe Albertin
