Abstract: The proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor is a safety device. The proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor detects the presence of a child in a child safety seat. The child is in the custody of a custodian. The proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor measures the span of the distance between the child safety seat and the custodian. If, while a child is detected in the child safety seat, the span of the distance between the child safety seat and the custodian is greater than a previously determined distance, the proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor sends an alarm directly to the custodian. If the custodian fails to respond to the alarm within a previously determined amount of time, the proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor sends an alarm informing the appropriate authority of the location of an unattended child.
