Abstract: A trenched base capacitive humidity sensor includes a plurality of trenches formed in a conductive layer, such as polysilicon or metal, on a substrate. The trenches are arranged parallel to the each other and partition the conductive layer into a plurality of trenched silicon electrodes. At least two trenched silicon electrodes are configured to form a capacitive humidity sensor. The trenches that define the trenched silicon electrodes can be filled partially (e.g., sidewall coverage) or completely with polyimide (Pl) or silicon nitride (SiN). A polyimide layer may also be provided on the conductive layer over the trenches and trenched electrodes. The trenches and the trenched silicon electrodes may have different widths to enable different sensor characteristics in the same structure.
Abstract: A tri-axis accelerometer includes a proof mass, at least four anchor points arranged in at least two opposite pairs, a first pair of anchor points being arranged opposite one another along a first axis, a second pair of anchor points being arranged opposite one another along a second axis, the first axis and the second axis being perpendicular to one another, and at least four spring units to connect the proof mass to the at least four anchor points, the spring units each including a pair of identical springs, each spring including a sensing unit.
Abstract: A method of interpreting input from a user includes providing a surface within reach of a hand of the user. A plurality of locations on the surface that are touched by the user are sensed. An alphanumeric character having a shape most similar to the plurality of touched locations on the surface is determined. The determining includes collecting information associated with hand region localized modules, and modeling the information using statistical models. The user is informed of the alphanumeric character and/or a word in which the alphanumeric character is included. Feedback is received from the user regarding whether the alphanumeric character and/or word is an alphanumeric character and/or word that the user intended to be determined in the determining step.
Abstract: A screwing system, in particular for assembly plants, includes a drive shaft, which is rotatable with respect to its longitudinal axis, and an output shaft, which is rotatable with respect to its longitudinal axis. The rotary motion of the output shaft is coupled via a coupling device with the rotary motion of the drive shaft. The output shaft has a tool holder configured to receive a tool. The output shaft is movable in relation to the drive shaft along its longitudinal direction in two opposite directions, and a drive device, which moves the output shaft at least in one of these directions, is provided.
Abstract: A hand power tool includes a tool receiver configured to receive a tool. The tool has an outer polygonal coupling and the tool receiver has an inner receiver including, at least portionally, a rotary driver profile. The tool receiver is provided on an associated tool housing, in which there is a drum-type tool change magazine having at least one tool chamber configured to store the tool. The tool chamber is configured to be aligned so as to be flush with the tool receiver to enable the tool to slide from the tool chamber into the inner receiver or from the inner receiver into the tool chamber. An alignment element is configured to align the outer polygonal coupling as the tool slides from the tool chamber into the inner receiver to enable the outer polygonal coupling to slide into the rotary driver profile.

The field effect transistor has a drain region, a source region, an intermediate channel region with a first doping type, and a movable gate which is separated from the channel region by an intermediate space. The drain region, the source region, and the channel region are arranged in a substrate. A guard region is provided in the substrate at least on the longitudinal sides of the channel region and has a second doping type which is the same as the first doping type and has a higher doping concentration.
Abstract: A DC-DC converter including a transformer having a primary-side winding and a secondary-side winding with a center tap, and a storage choke. A rectifier circuit is connected to each of the taps at the ends of the secondary-side winding and generates a rectified output voltage at a second output of said DC-DC converter. A snubber circuit is switched via the rectifier circuit and stores energy occurring in said rectifier circuit. (An actuation apparatus includes a switching time determining device designed to determine a time interval as a function of the output voltage, the charge stored in the snubber circuit and the current fluctuations of the current through the storage choke occurring as a result of the rectification. A storage signal generator generates an actuation signal for discharging the snubber circuit as a function of the determined time interval.

Abstract: A method for register correction in a web processing machine includes leading a product web through at least one delay section and processing the product web by a first processing device. An actuating command is applied to the first processing device to position the product web at an intended position during a web tension change. The actuating command is determined from an actuating command leading to the web tension change and at least one delay term. The at least one delay term delays the action of the actuating command leading to the web tension change on the actuating command for the first processing device by a delay time needed by the product web to pass through the at least one delay section before the first processing device.

An electrical functional adhesive bandage includes a measurement element for measuring at least one of electromagnetic properties and fluorescent properties. The bandage also includes a first communication element for wireless communication. Together, the implantable sensor, the bandage, and an evaluation device, which includes a computation unit, a display and a second communication element for wireless communication, form a kit for determining the blood sugar level in a patient.
Abstract: There is provided a battery pack capable of improving the safety thereof. The battery pack includes a battery array, side plates, a top cover and end plates. The battery array includes a plurality of battery cells aligned in a first direction. The battery array is formed as a hexahedron having (1-1)th, (1-2)th, (2-1)th (2-2)th, (3-1)th and (3-2)th planes. The top cover is provided to the (1-1)th plane of the battery array, and has reinforcing frames respectively formed at both sides based on the first direction. The reinforcing frame includes vertical and horizontal frames. The end plates are provided to the (3-1)th and (3-2)th planes, respectively. The end plates are fixed to the top cover. A holding part pressing both sides of the top cover on the (1-1)th plane are provided to the side plates, respectively.
