Abstract: Disclosed herein are implementations of a device, and associated methods and systems, for bending and securing a surgical needle to a predetermined angle relative to the base of the needle. One feature of various disclosed implements of the invention is a two-part construction that provides additional needle stability after bending.

Abstract: A portable personal use module and related methods of use are generally disclosed herein with the portable structural unit having a set of amenities selected prior to the transport of the portable structural unit from an initial location to a designated usage location and subsequently used to customize the interior space at the designated usage location with the portable structural unit removably placed therein along with a command center in communication with at least one powered device from the set of amenities and operable to selectively grant control of the powered device to a user at the designated usage location.

Abstract: Improved approaches for enabling user accounts to be portable across different multi-user computer systems are disclosed. A user account created at a multi-user computer can be stored to an external, portable data store, thereby rendering the user account portable. The multi-user computer system, e.g., through its operating system, locates user accounts on not only in local storage of the multi-user computer system, but also in any removable data storage attached to the multi-user computer system. Hence, by coupling the external, portable data store to another multi-user computer, a user is able to login to any supporting multi-user computer and be presented with their user configuration and user directory. Since the data store that stores the user account is not only external but also portable, a user can simply tote the data store to the location of different multi-user computers.

Abstract: A software manager enables a computer user to administer software elements within a computer operating system. The software manager comprises a configuration database storing information including a prevailing state and a dependency listing for each of the software components within the system. The software manager also comprises a user interface which allows the computer user to view the stored information and permits the user to specify changes to the prevailing states. Finally, the software manager comprises a software manager server which communicates with the user interface and the configuration database, effects the user specified changes, and updates the stored information to reflect those changes. A user of the software manager can readily obtain an overall "picture" of a prevailing system configuration, use that picture to make intelligent decisions with respect to system modification, and thereby administer the operating system environment in a seamless, efficient, and robust manner.
