  • Publication number: 20180069361
Abstract: A unidirectional cable connector that can be operatively connected between a host device and accessory device in the ecosystem of products. The cable includes first and second plug connectors at opposite ends of a wire where the two plug connectors share a common pinout but the insertion plug of the second connector is shortened in length as compared to the insertion plug of the first connector. The shortened plug prevents the second connector from being fully inserted into the host device that includes a standard depth receptacle connector, and thus prevents the second connector from being operatively coupled to the host device. The shortened plug can, however, be operatively connected with an electronic device having a shortened receptacle connector according to embodiments of the disclosure.

  • Patent number: 9901788
Abstract: A head for a ball striking device, such as a golf club head, includes a face member having a face with a striking surface configured for striking a ball and a rear surface opposite the striking surface, a weight member connected to the face member behind the rear surface of the face member, and a resilient member positioned between the weight member and the face member. The resilient member is connected to the rear surface of the face member to connect the weight member to the face member. The resilient member is compressible to permit energy and/or momentum to be transferred between the weight member and the face member through the resilient member during impact, including an off-center impact on the striking surface. Momentum transferred from the weight member to the face member during an off-center impact may reduce energy loss and twisting of the face on impact.

  • Publication number: 20170219239
Abstract: A fan characterization and control system includes a chassis housing a plurality of components and a fan system. A controller system is coupled to the components and the fan system and configured to detect fan devices in the fan system that are connected to the controller system via respective fan connectors. The controller system determines fan performance categories of each of the fan devices based on signals communicated by each of the fan devices through at least one pin on the respective fan connectors. The controller system accesses a fan performance database that stores different fan performance categories and respective fan performance characteristics for each of the different fan performance categories. The controller system uses fan performance information that is associated in the fan performance database with each of the fan performance categories determined for the fan devices to configure the components and the fan system for operation.

  • Publication number: 20170188485
Abstract: An enhanced airflow chassis system includes a component chassis that defines a chassis enclosure including a chassis entrance and component slots. First component carriers are mounted to first components and positioned in each of the component slots. Each first component carrier defines first component carrier airflow apertures that direct airflow entering the chassis entrance to the first component mounted to that first component carrier. A backplane located in the chassis enclosure opposite the component slots from the chassis entrance defines backplane airflow apertures and includes a component connector located adjacent each of the component slots that is connected to the first component mounted to the component carrier positioned in that component slot.
