Patent number: 8788740Abstract: A system and methodology that can prevent errors during data commit on multicycle pass complete associated with a memory is provided. The system employs a transaction buffer component in the memory that receives and temporarily stores information associated with a transaction. A controller component programs subsets of data to respective memory locations once the entire transaction is completed based on the information stored in the transaction buffer component. Thus, if the transaction is interrupted during the transfer of the user data into the buffer, the data stored in the memory is not affected and can still contain the original data when power is regained. If the data transfer between the transaction buffer component and memory array is interrupted, the controller component can complete the transfer from the point of interruption on regaining power and can avoid partial storage of data.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2007Date of Patent: July 22, 2014Assignee: Spansion LLCInventors: Sunil Atri, Robert Brent France, Walter Allen

Patent number: 8777284Abstract: A gripper system which utilizes two different suction systems is disclosed. This gripper system utilizes one suction system to pick up an item, while using the second suction system to hold the item. In some embodiments, a Venturi device based suction system is used as the first suction system to pick up the item, as this type of system is proficient at picking up items without requiring initial contact to create a seal. In some embodiments, a vacuum based system is used as the second suction system, as this type of system is able to hold items cost effectively.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2012Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc.Inventors: Jason Schaller, Robert Brent Vopat

Publication number: 20140081456Abstract: A robot calibration method which aligns the coordinate system of a gantry module with the coordinate system of a camera system is disclosed. The method includes using an alignment tool, which allows the operator to place workpieces in locations known by the gantry module. An image is then captured of these workpieces by the camera system. A controller uses the information from the gantry module and the camera system to determine the relationship between the two coordinate systems. It then determines a transformation equation to convert from one coordinate system to the other.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 5, 2013Publication date: March 20, 2014Inventors: Jason M. Schaller, Robert Brent Vopat, James R. McLane

Publication number: 20140076688Abstract: A system and method for the handling of workpieces in a workpiece processing system is disclosed. The system utilizes three conveyor belts, where one may be a loading belt, feeding unprocessed workpieces from its associated workpiece carrier to a processing system. A second conveyor belt may be an unloading belt, receiving processed workpieces from the processing system and filling its associated workpiece carrier. The third conveyor belt may be exchanging its workpiece carrier during this time, so that it is available to start operating as the loading belt once all of the workpieces have been removed from the workpiece carrier associated with the first conveyor belt.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 5, 2013Publication date: March 20, 2014Inventors: Robert Brent Vopat, Malcolm N. Publication number: 20140065351Abstract: A material with a cellular structure is formed from melt-stretched granules. Granules compressed between stretching surfaces are melted to form viscous molten layers attaching ends of the granules to the surfaces. Melted central portions of the granules are stretched by moving the surfaces away from one another. A cellular structure is thus formed between the molten layers, both of which are solidified to form a solid material. A cellular material may also be formed by melting a melt-stretchable material to form a sheet of viscous molten mass formed of opposite surface layers connected by a central portion, stretching the central portion by pulling the surface layers away from one another to generate air cells randomly distributed throughout the central portion, and solidifying the cellular core and the skins formed from the central portion and the surface layers.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2013Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicant: Fly Technologies Inc.Inventors: Robert Brent CORDNER, Glenn David HIBBARD

Publication number: 20140023461Abstract: A manufacturing system includes a gantry module, having an end effector, for moving workpieces from a conveyor system to a working area, such as a swap module. The swap module removes a matrix of processed workpieces from a load lock and place a matrix of unprocessed workpieces in its place. The processed workpieces are then moved by the gantry module back to the conveyor. Due to the speed of operation, the end effector may build up excessive electrostatic charge. To remove this built up charge, grounded electrically-conductive brushes are strategically positioned so that, as the end effector moves during normal operation, it comes in contact with these brushes. This removes this built up charge on the end effector, without affecting throughput. In another embodiment, the end effector moves over the brushes while the swap module is moving matrix to and from the load lock.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2012Publication date: January 23, 2014Applicant: VARIAN SEMICONDUCTOR EQUIPMENT ASSOCIATES, INC.Inventors: Jason Schaller, Robert Brent Vopat

Patent number: 8423374Abstract: A method and system for routing intelligence information related to security. The security system provides rules that identify conditions and routing instructions that are to be applied to intelligence information. A security organization may create and modify rules to ensure the appropriate routing of intelligence information in a timely manner. The security system may receive intelligence information from various sources. Regardless of the form or source of intelligence information, the security system analyzes the intelligence information to determine whether any conditions of the rules are satisfied. When a condition of a rule is satisfied, the security system sends a notification of the intelligence information in accordance with the routing instructions for that rule. In this way, intelligence information can be automatically and quickly routed to the appropriate security personnel for further processing.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2002Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Assignee: Siebel Systems, Inc.Inventors: Matthew Scott Malden, Daniel Edward Israel, Robert Brent Pinkerton, Frank Warren Bishop, Jr., Prashant B. Patent number: 7743203Abstract: A memory management component can track the amount of time between erase cycles for a particular memory region, and can manage memory region such that the regions are given sufficient time to rest and recover, or are given at least as much rest time as is practical, before being subject to an erase cycle. A reclamation management component can reclaim memory region that have invalid data stored therein, and can reclaim regions on a just-in-time basis when practical, and can determine which regions to reclaim based on various factors, such as the amount of time since a region was last erased, and the number of programming errors associated with a region. The memory management component can thereby optimize the useful life, minimize or reduce loss of margin in memory regions, and minimize or reduce programming errors of memory regions, of non-volatile (e.g., flash) memory.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2007Date of Patent: June 22, 2010Assignee: Spansion LLCInventor: Robert Brent France
