  • Publication number: 20180238120
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include a differential coupling system, a method of coupling a first mandrel to a second mandrel and a coupler. In one embodiment, the system includes a first mandrel having a first external thread about an external surface of the first mandrel. The system also includes a second mandrel having a second external thread about an external surface of the second mandrel. The system further includes a coupler that includes a first internal thread that complements the first external thread of the first mandrel and a second internal thread that complements the second external thread of the second mandrel. The system further includes an aligning pin configured to engage a first aligning hole of the first mandrel and a second aligning hole of the second mandrel to restrict axial rotation between the first mandrel and the second mandrel when the first mandrel is engaged to the second mandrel.

  • Publication number: 20160033425
Abstract: A digital radiographic tool with drive car for moving along track sections attached longitudinally to a pipe is shown. The drive car carries (1) a collimator on one side of the pipe for projecting x-rays or gamma rays on said pipe and (2) a linear digital array on an opposing side of the pipe for collecting x-rays or gamma rays that have passed through the pipe. The collected rays are processed to indicate any defects in the pipe. The digital radiographic tool is adjustable to allow inspection of pipes that have obstructions adjacent thereto.

  • Patent number: 9163493
Abstract: A wellbore servicing system comprising a casing string disposed within a wellbore, a work string at least partially disposed within the casing string and having a wellbore servicing tool incorporated therein, wherein the wellbore servicing tool is selectively transitionable between a jetting configuration and a mixing configuration, wherein the wellbore servicing tool is configured to transition between the jetting configuration and the mixing configuration via contact between the wellbore servicing tool and the casing upon movement of the work string upwardly within the casing string, upon movement of the work string downwardly within the casing string, or by combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 9019798
Abstract: A pressure-balanced acoustic-signal-receiving apparatus and methods therefor. The apparatus may comprise a first housing, a first actuator, a second housing, and a second actuator. The first housing may comprise a fluid chamber, a passage connecting a first and second portion of the fluid chamber, a tubular-contact assembly, an isolating member within the fluid chamber and coupled to the assembly, an acoustic-signal receiver within the isolating member and coupled to the assembly, and a communication member coupled to the receiver. A method for receiving an acoustic signal generated within a wellbore may comprise receiving the acoustic signal with a tubular-contact assembly, sensing the acoustic signal with an acoustic-signal receiver positioned within a fluid chamber and coupled to the assembly, equilibrating fluid pressures in the first and second portions of the fluid chamber, and transmitting information generated by the acoustic-signal receiver through a communication member.

  • Patent number: 8931557
Abstract: An apparatus for servicing a wellbore comprising a housing, high-pressure ports, high-volume ports, and a mandrel slidably positioned within the housing. The housing defines an axial flowbore and the mandrel defines a mandrel axial flowbore. The mandrel is alternatingly movable from a first position to a second position and to a third position. When the mandrel is in the second position, a route of fluid communication via the high-pressure ports is provided and a route of fluid communication via the high-volume ports is obstructed. When the mandrel is in the third position, a route of fluid communication via the high-volume ports is provided. The apparatus is transitionable from the second position to the third position without communicating an obturating member to the apparatus, without removing an obturating member from the apparatus, or combinations thereof.
