  • Patent number: 4811762
Abstract: A weft yarn store for a loom comprises a drum adapted to receive a weft yarn supply, a winder for winding weft yarn on the drum and means for retaining the weft yarn at the runoff end of the drum upon the completion of picking. A retaining element of the retaining means is adjustable by means of a controllable drive in the peripheral direction of the drum. When this element moves together with the running-off yarn during the braking thereof, the yarn can be retained smoothly. The weft yarn can therefore be metered accurately and smoothly.

  • Patent number: 4799517
Abstract: A weft yarn store (1) for looms (3) stores weft yarn (2), the yarn coming from a package disposed outside the store, on a stationary drum (13) having a first winding zone (135) and a second winding zone (136). While a first winder (12) winds yarn (21) on to a first winding zone (135) so that a yarn supply (21) is permanently available, the second winder (14) intermittently or variably unwinds yarn from the first winding zone towards a second winding zone (136). In a preferred operation of the store (1) together with a loom (3), yarn which is from the second winding zone (136) and which was deposited there by the second winder (14) is picked into the loom. After consumption of this supply and until the termination of the same pick, yarn is unwound directly from the supply in the first winding zone (135) by means of the second winder (14) and supplied to the loom (3) without intermediate storage.

  • Patent number: 4546801
Abstract: The control device contains a deflection roll extending over the entire weaving width of the weaving machine, a tensioning beam pivotable about a support beam and also extending over the entire weaving width as well as a sensing roller arranged therebetween and subject to the action of a spring for sensing a portion of the warp threads of the warp, respectively of each partial warp beam. The tensioning beam is subject to the action of a preloaded torsion-bar spring. In this manner a sensing force arises at the sensing roller which can be increased from a first value to a second value according to the position of the tensioning beam. This permits the realization of increased responsiveness of the control device.

  • Patent number: 4442869
Abstract: The apparatus includes two retaining elements associated with the control elements, two actuating elements associated with the retaining elements, a shaft acting on the actuating elements in order to pivot the latter and to displace them in translatory motion, and an electromagnet which can be optionally energized and deenergized. The shaft is oscillatingly driven in accordance with the motion of the control element at the timing of the loom. The actuating element is brought into contact with, and out of contact from, the electromagnet independently of the control cycle and is displaced in the direction of the retaining element only when the electromagnet is not energized. The actuating element need therefore be displaced only once during the period of time defined by the clearance S, so that the operating speed of the loom can be increased.

  • Patent number: 4116242
Abstract: The jacquard needles are moved lengthwise via a reciprocable drive element and a selector in order to selectively press the lifting wires in a pressing direction. Each needle carries a force accumulator, such as a coiled spring, which abuts against the drive element and allows the drive element to move in the pressing direction when a given needle is not to be moved. Each needle is also locked to the drive element to move with the drive element in a direction opposite the pressing direction.

  • Patent number: 4059133
Abstract: The present invention relates to a weft insert apparatus for a shuttleless loom, especially a ribbon loom, comprising two cooperating weft insert elements moved towards one another, the weft insert elements moving about pivot axes in such a manner that their free ends describe curves, and comprising at least one tying needle.

  • Patent number: 4041987
Abstract: A Jacquard machine of the type possessing to-and-fro moving lifting wires having arresting hooks for coupling with stationary arresting blades. At least one stationary guide edge is provided at the region of a stationary arresting blade fixing the lower shed position. This guide edge cooperates with a projection located at the neighboring lifting wire moving into the lower shed position, so that the lifting wire is deflected and in the lower shed position is coupled with the associated stationary arresting blade.

  • Patent number: 4034782
Abstract: The connecting members are each made to receive a lifting wire in snap-fit manner at one end while receiving a knot or widened head of a harness cord or a distribution stirrup at the other end. The connecting members allow the harness cords to be readily connected to a lifting wire. The connecting members each have a clip-like part which may either engage in a recess of the lifting wire or may have a plurality of longitudinally spaced recesses to receive a collar of a lifting wire in one of the recesses. A spring may also be used in the connecting member to effect engagement.

  • Patent number: 4023598
Abstract: The lifting wires are provided with a reinforcement within the pressing zone to rigidify the wires while the hook-containing zones remain bendable. The reinforcement is in the form of webs secured to the wires, widened portions of the wires, or a bowed member secured to the pressing member, i.e. jacquard needle, and pivotally articulated at the ends of the lifting wire.

  • Patent number: 4022251
Abstract: The griffes are provided with projecting means on two sides in order to guide the drive nebs on the lifting hooks during shifting of the lifting hooks. The two means are of different length with one acting as a pressing ledge to guide a lifting hook onto a neb of an adjacent griffe while the other acts as a guide ledge to block movement of a lifting hook onto an adjacent griffe.
