  • Patent number: 8167748
Abstract: A broadhead which is light in weight and which has surface area to decrease arrowhead weight, surface area and drag to increase performance of an arrow to which it is attached. The broadhead attaches to the arrow in one of the known ways, glue, screw, friction or interference fit. A broadhead wrench may need to be used to protect the user from sharp edges while handling the broadhead. The blade portion of the broadhead aids in the hemorrhaging of the target by creating a larger conduit for bleeding to occur, thus speeding death of a game animal.

  • Patent number: 8062155
Abstract: An improved arrowhead features two sets of expandable blades. The expandable blades are pivotally movable from a first, concealed position to a second expanded position when spurs on the front of the blades contact a target. The first concealed position of the blades allows the arrowhead to penetrate the target upon contact. The fixed blades may be diamond-shaped, double-edged replaceable blades. The expandable blades comprise at least two pivotable blades that can be held in the first safe position by an elastic band. The spurs are located at a first end of the expandable blades, and these spurs are located proximate the base of the fixed blade portion of the arrow head, to allow the fixed portion to penetrate the target before the expandable blades are deployed by the spurs contacting the target.

  • Patent number: 7814916
Abstract: An implantable marker, instruments for implanting the marker and method for implanting the marker are described. The implantable marker comprises a housing with an outer surface providing a bone anchor and having a cavity within which a marker detectable by a tracking system is secured. The kit includes a guide instrument having a guide channel for receiving an implantable marker, an insertion tool receivable within the channel and having a distal end for releasably engaging an implantable marker, and an implantable marker receivable within the channel. The insertion tool is operable to drive the implantable marker into the bone. The method includes puncturing the skin with an instrument, driving the implantable marker into the bone and withdrawing the instrument, leaving the marker implanted within the bone.

  • Patent number: 7594514
Abstract: A concealment system includes one or more independently positionable masking panels. Each of the panels is independently supported by a hub and strut frame, and employs various interchangeable camouflage sheet materials. A polygonal perimeter strip has strut-engaging pockets thereon with a pocket located at each corner of the panel, and structure for mounting a masking panel thereon. Dual ball mount are attached to a platform and to a base portion of the frame hub, respectively. A positioning arm, having independently adjustable socket clamps, extends between the two ball mount to support the panel frame. An improved hub design eliminates guide channels therein, and employs cabling to attach the struts. The positioning arm has a single span with socket clamps permanently attached to each end so that each clamp can be independently adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20080156588
Abstract: A pivotally foldable ladder module apparatus, for use by hunters and wildlife enthusiasts, includes upper and lower body segments which are pivotally connected to one another. The apparatus includes a locking fastener for temporarily fixing the position of the lower body segment relative to the upper body segment. The apparatus may also include an adjustable strap attached to a central shaft of the upper body segment, to permit fastening of the apparatus to a tree. The apparatus is pivotally movable between an extended position and a folded position used for storage and transport. Each segment includes a central shaft, and a pair of tree-contacting bracket members for aligning the apparatus with a tree. When the apparatus is in the folded position, the tree-contacting bracket members are displaced from one another, and the respective central shafts are spaced apart from one another and are oriented substantially parallel to one another.

  • Publication number: 20050268522
Abstract: A decoy adapter stand allows a floatable buoyant waterfowl decoy to be adapted for use on land. The decoy adapter stand includes an upper securing bracket, a base, and a vertical spacer joining the upper bracket to the base. The securing bracket is used to secure a floatable buoyant waterfowl decoy to the stand, and the base provides a stable support. In use, the vertical spacer distances the decoy from the surface of the ground, so that the decoy appears to be standing. A first, freestanding embodiment of the decoy adapter stand includes a footed base. A second embodiment of the decoy adapter stand includes a staked base, where portions of the base are insertable into the ground. A method of using the described apparatus to adapt a floatable buoyant decoy for land use is also described.
