Patent number: 11952853Abstract: Systems and methods for coupling subsea tubular members together are provided. An apparatus may be used to properly orient and/or provide communication between a first subsea tubular member that is being landed on a second subsea tubular member. An apparatus for coupling subsea tubular members may include an alignment sub and a corresponding alignment member. The alignment sub includes: a generally cylindrical body having one or more fluid, electric, or fiber optic lines extending therethrough, one or more couplings coupled to at least one end of the alignment sub, and an orientation profile disposed on a surface of the alignment sub. The alignment member has a profile designed to interface with the orientation profile of the alignment sub. One of the alignment sub and the alignment member remains stationary while the other rotates relative to the stationary structure.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2021Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Dril-Quip, Inc.Inventors: Blake T. DeBerry, Morris B. Wade, Flavio Santos, Andrew Mitchell, Gregory Norwood, Robert Buxton, David Scantlebury, Matthew Crotwell, Justin Rye, Todd L. Scaggs

Patent number: 11952854Abstract: Systems and methods for landing a tubing hanger in a wellhead and then orienting a tree (or spool, or flowline connection body) relative to the tubing hanger while landing the tree on the wellhead are provided. This alignment is accomplished without the use of either a tubing spool or a BOP stack with an orientation pin. The tubing hanger alignment devices may be used to orientate the tree as the tree is landed so that the couplings and stabs between the tree and the tubing hanger line up with each other just at the moment of landing.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2022Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Dril-Quip, Inc.Inventors: Blake T. DeBerry, Morris B. Wade, Flavio Santos, Gregory Norwood, Robert Buxton, Justin Rye, Todd L. Scaggs

Publication number: 20070088970Abstract: Provided are methods, data processing systems, recovery components and computer programs for recovering from storage failures affecting data repositories. At least a part of the recovery processing is performed while the data repositories are able to receive new data and to allow retrieval of such new data. Although new data items may be received into the repository and retrieved therefrom during recovery processing, updates to the data repository which were performed before the failure and which are then restored to the repository by the recovery processing are restored within a recovery unit of work and are inaccessible to processes other than the recovery process until successful completion of the recovery unit of work. The recovery processing ensures that the recovered repository is consistent with the state of the repository at the time of the failure, but is available for addition and retrieval of new data items before completion of the recovery processing.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2003Publication date: April 19, 2007Applicant: LENOVO (SINGAPORE) PTE.LTDInventors: Robert Buxton, David Fishers, Jose Garza, Stephen Hobson, Paul Hopewall, Paul Kettley, Robert Millar, Peter Siddall, Stephen Walker

Patent number: 6918985Abstract: A method for making a radome includes the steps of placing a first dry fiber preform into a female mold having a mold surface contoured as a negative image of a desired contour to be imparted to an exterior surface of the radome, and placing a polyetherimide foam core in the mold on top of the first dry fiber preform, the foam core having first been thermally formed to generally match the contour of the mold surface prior to being placed in the mold. Next, a second dry fiber preform is placed on top of the foam core so as to form a sandwich structure having the foam core sandwiched between the dry fiber preforms, and the dry fiber preforms are vacuum infused with a fluid heat-curable resin to impregnate the preforms with the resin. The sandwich structure is then heated to cure the resin.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2002Date of Patent: July 19, 2005Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventor: Robert Buxton Geyer

Publication number: 20050131883Abstract: An apparatus includes a browse mechanism to scan a list of data items. A marker is applied to the data items once they have been scanned by the browse mechanism. The marker provides an indication that a respective data item has been scanned by a given browse entity. The browse mechanism subsequently scans only unmarked data items in the list of data items.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2004Publication date: June 16, 2005Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Robert Buxton, Richard Harran, Andrew Hickson, Paul Hopewell, Stephen Kinder, Ian Parkson, Gary Puchkoff, James Warnes
