  • Publication number: 20160082802
Abstract: A vehicle and a height adjustment system for the vehicle are disclosed. A valve includes a member movable between a first position operating first and second piston mechanisms to raise an end of the vehicle to a first height, a second position operating the first and second piston mechanisms to lower the end of the vehicle to a second height and a third position maintaining the end of the vehicle at one of the first height and the second height. A first fluid line extends between the first piston mechanism and the valve to fluidly connect the first piston mechanism and the valve. Additionally, a second fluid line extends between the second piston mechanism and the valve to fluidly connect the second piston mechanism and the valve. The first fluid line and the second fluid line are fluidly connected to the valve independently of each other.

  • Publication number: 20160083833
Abstract: A thermal barrier coated metallic article includes a platinum-group metal enriched outer layer on the article. The surface of the outer layer has a microstructure including a plurality of projections extending away from the metallic article. A thin adherent layer of oxide is formed on the outer layer of the metallic article. A ceramic coating is provided on the oxide layer on the surface on and around the projections. The ceramic coating includes a plurality of columnar ceramic grains which extend through the full thickness of the ceramic coating. The grains are arranged in clusters separated by gaps. The grains deposited around the projections are generally blocked. The projections reduce the stress in the ceramic coating near the interface with the adherent layer of oxide and also reduce the stress in the adherent layer of oxide and hence increase the working life of the thermal barrier coating system.

  • Publication number: 20160086529
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for reducing flicker in display devices. In some image formation processes, a controller can form an image by utilizing a set of color subfields in displaying subframes associated with each of the color subfields. In some implementations, the controller may determine whether to divide or split the display of certain subframes based on environmental factors such as ambient light with or without concern for flicker. In some implementations, the controller may determine to divide or split the display of an x-channel subframe based on the ambient light. The controller can monitor the ambient light levels via an ambient light sensor, and compare the ambient light level to an ambient light threshold. If the ambient light levels go below the ambient light threshold, the controller can employ subframe division or splitting.

  • Publication number: 20160085223
Abstract: An apparatus that can be configured for various functions such as a digital oscilloscope, logic analyzer or frequency analyzer is disclosed. The apparatus includes a symbol generator, an FSM, and a controller. The symbol generator generates an ordered sequence of symbols from an analog input signal. The symbols have a number of states that is less than or equal to 16. The controller causes the FSM to search for a pattern in the sequence of symbols that identifies a corresponding pattern in the analog signal. A portion of a digital sequence generated from the analog signal is then displayed based on the location of the pattern in the sequence of symbols.

  • Publication number: 20160084117
Abstract: A system for diagnosing malfunctions in a variable valve actuation device. The system has a rocker arm assembly with first and second arms attached at a first end and a hydraulically operated latch assembly to secure the first arm to the second arm when latched. The rocker arm assembly pivots upon a hydraulic lash adjuster and includes a source of pressurized fluid connected to a hydraulic valve providing high or low pressure fluid to the hydraulically-operated latch. The latch may be operated by a remote device. A pressure transducer positioned within the hydraulic lash adjuster (HLA) is adapted to create a signal indicating fluid pressure in the HLA. A control unit coupled to the hydraulic valve and the pressure transducer is adapted to sense engine operating parameters, actuate the hydraulic valve, read the signal from the pressure transducer and identify malfunctions of the rocker arm assembly based upon the signal.

  • Publication number: 20160085945
Abstract: A method of DRM protection for an image or a series of images or a succession of video frames, comprises: generating a reversible transform; applying the reversible transform to a source image; compressing the transformed image into a bitstream; and supplying the bitstream to a recipient for consumption. At the recipient the bitstream is decompressed and sent to the image display hardware with the transform still in place. A key is used to generate the inverse transform at the recipient and the inverse transform is then carried out in the image display hardware. An additional transform may be applied to the image following the inverse transform to offset pixels from an average value. Thus the source image itself is never exposed at the recipient although the image can be correctly viewed.

  • Publication number: 20160084957
Abstract: A sonar device for positioning a second vehicle within relative proximity of a first vehicle, includes a light indicator having at least two light outputs. A controller has first and second settings calibrated to correspond to first and second signal strengths. The first signal strength corresponds to a near distance between the first and second vehicles. The second signal strength corresponds to a far distance between the vehicles. Based on the strength of a returned sonar signal, the controller actuates the light indicator to indicate when the vehicles are at the near distance from each other and when the vehicles are at the far distance from each other. The vehicle operators use the light indicators to regulate the actual distance between the two vehicles to be within the near and far distances.

  • Publication number: 20160087737
Abstract: A network receiver receives from a network an input signal which is sampled by a data sampler of the network receiver at sampling moments. Sampling moments have a relative position in time within a period of time of a single bit. The network receiver further includes a clock bit comparator and a sampling moment adaptor. The clock bit comparator compares lengths of a first time period lapsed while receiving at least five consecutive bits of the signal and of an internal clock time interval representing the same number of bits as a number of bits of the first time period. The sampling moment adaptor adapts the relative position of the sampling moment in dependence of a result of the comparison of the lengths to reduce a difference between the lengths.

  • Publication number: 20160084557
Abstract: An insulated icemaking compartment is provided in the fresh food compartment of a bottom mount refrigerator. The icemaking compartment may be integrally formed with the liner of the fresh food compartment, or alternatively, may be modular for installation anywhere in the fresh food compartment. A removable bin assembly with a front cover normally seals the icemaking compartment to maintain the temperature in the compartment. A cold air duct formed in the rear wall of the refrigerator supplies cold air from the freezer compartment to the icemaking compartment. A return air duct directs a portion of the air from the icemaking compartment back to the freezer compartment. An air vent in the icemaking compartment directs another portion of air into the fresh food compartment. A control system provides for controlling refrigerator functions in a manner that promotes energy efficiency.
