  • Publication number: 20180202159
Abstract: Frame supported panels with an increased load carrying capacity derived from inducing newly discovered conditions on panels made from weaker, lighter and thinner materials. The fixed/continuous/dropped condition can increase a panel's load capacity many times based on the panel's interaction with frame members. This enables foam panels, for example, to be used in structural applications. It also enables polyurethane foam with any cladding to provide a comprehensive, structural building panel that provides a finished exterior, continuous and cavity insulation, an air, moisture and vapor barrier and increased uplift resistance while eliminating condensation and thermal expansion/contraction.

  • Publication number: 20180199577
Abstract: Compositions having at least one compound which inhibits the formation of Hemipteran stylet sheaths and/or degrades hemipteran style sheaths that have already been formed, and thus deters or blocks hemipteran insects from feeding on plants, especially agriculturally important plants and methods of use of such compositions are described. Such compositions can be applied onto plants by spraying, dripping, or other methods and/or can be applied to the soil for uptake by the roots. These compositions and methods prevent and/or reduce the transmission of vascular associated diseases (caused by hemipteran vector-borne pathogens) to plants.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are described for providing feedback to a user in motion. In operation, one or more measurements are performed in connection with one or more objects. Next, it is determined, based on the one or more measurements, that a collision may occur with at least one of the objects. Further, image data is received, for the at least one object, captured by an image capture device. Lastly, if it is determined that that the collision may occur with the at least one object, an image of the object is presented, utilizing the image data, via a display device that is viewable to a user.

  • Publication number: 20180202801
Abstract: The aim of the invention is a quick and very precise reconstruction of an object. This is achieved by a device and a method for detecting an image of a preferably structured surface of an object (6), comprising at least one pattern projection unit for illuminating the object (6) and at least one imaging unit (7) for capturing images of projected patterns. A temporal and/or spatial analysis of received images or image sequences is carried out in order to reconstruct the surface. The at least one pattern projection unit is designed to generate patterns using a diffraction of light on an optical grating. Furthermore, the method for detecting images is characterized in that by using the temporal and/or spatial analysis of the captured images or image sequences, corresponding pixels are ascertained by means of algorithms, said pixels together with an imaging function allowing a triangulation of surface points.

  • Publication number: 20180203320
Abstract: Prior electrochromic devices frequently suffer from high levels of defectivity. The defects may be manifest as pin holes or spots where the electrochromic transition is impaired. This is unacceptable for many applications such as electrochromic architectural glass. Improved electrochromic devices with low defectivity can be fabricated by depositing certain layered components of the electrochromic device in a single integrated deposition system. While these layers are being deposited and/or treated on a substrate, for example a glass window, the substrate never leaves a controlled ambient environment, for example a low pressure controlled atmosphere having very low levels of particles. These layers may be deposited using physical vapor deposition.

  • Publication number: 20180200347
Abstract: A streamlined method for purifying alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT) from an AAT-containing protein mixture, such as Coh fraction IV precipitate, is provided. In the method of the invention, contaminating proteins are destabilized by cleavage of disulfide bonds with a reducing reagent, such as dithiol, which does not affect AAT. The destabilized proteins are then preferentially adsorbed on a solid protein-adsorbing material, without the addition of a salt as a precipitante. Spearation of the solid absorbent from the solution leaves a purified AAT solution that is directly suitabale for chromatographic purification, without the need for extensive desalting as in prior art processes. A process incorporating this method, which provides pharmaceutical grade AAT in high yield on a commercial scale, is also described.

  • Publication number: 20180206292
Abstract: Architecture that allows a user to control the way a connection is made to a destination is described. A destination can be tagged with an attribute that defines how the connection to that destination should be routed. For example, a phone address book allows the user not only to enter the usual call recipient information such as name and telephone number, but also to add an attribute in the form of a network identifier associated with a network to be used when connecting to the destination. Where multiple networks are associated with the destination, the phone subsystem, recognizing that the destination now has multiple network IDs for connecting the call, can prompt the user to select the desired network pathway. The user can also tag the destination with a protocol that should be employed. Thus, not only will the phone be connected according to the network, but also the protocol.
