    Abstract: Devices, tools apparatus, kits, systems and methods for providing a gauge and tool for allowing a single installer to install siding boards, such as cedar and pine lap siding and Cementous boards on exterior walls. An installer can use two gauges to and install exterior wall siding on all sides of a building without a second installer. Each gauge can be cut from sheets of metal, such as aluminum having a thickness of approximately 0.09 inches. Each gauge can have a front generally rectangular panel with a left bent side with an upper left ledge and a lower left step, and a right bent side with an upper right ledge, and a lower right step, a first top middle panel extending upward from the rectangular panel between the left bent side and the right bent side, and a first mounting hole through the front generally rectangular panel. An installer can initially mount a bottom first siding panel on a wall. The gauges can allow siding such as 7.

    Abstract: The subject invention provides a locating assembly for centering and securing a work piece. The locating assembly includes a body. The body defines an internal cavity and an opening from the cavity to the exterior of the body. A locating pin is disposed in the cavity and extends along an axis out of the opening. An actuator moves the locating pin rectilinearly along the axis. A pair of fingers are supported by the locating pin and move radially into and out of the locating pin, transversely to the axis. A central post rotates in response to the rectilinear movement of the locating pin. A dowel extends from an end of the central post into a slot in the finger. The central post moves the dowel in an arcuate path through the slot to radially move the finger simultaneous with the rectilinear movement of the locating pin.

    Abstract: A three position cylinder assembly having an outer cylinder connected between two bases defining a cap end and a head end. A stationary tubular member is secured to the cap end of the outer cylinder at a port to provide fluid access into the outer cylinder. A first and second piston are disposed within the outer cylinder and have reciprocal movement therein. Each piston is connected to a rod which is concentric with the tubular member. The head end has an aperture for receiving the rods for extension beyond the outer cylinder, the tubular member has a stop at an end and the first piston and rod have reciprocal movement along the tubular member, wherein the stop defines a stable mid-position of the cylinder assembly. The second piston and rod have reciprocal movement along the first rod between the first piston and head end, wherein the head end defines a stable fully extended position of the cylinder assembly.

    Abstract: In a chromatography column one or more of the end plates defining the column are provided with specially designed lands and grooves to more effectively uniformly distribute the input liquid over the column cross-sectional area and thus improve the separation of sample components, the upper end wall of the column being adjustably positionable to vary the axial length of the column by means of novel structure including readily releasable speed nuts engageable with externally threaded rods, the seal between the movable upper plate and the column wall being so designed as to minimize dead space and thus further increase separating power, and the structure for adjustably positioning said top wall includes elements enabling that structure and the top wall connected thereto to be conveniently supported in inverted condition when separated from the remainder of the column structure.
