  • Patent number: 5539851
Abstract: A hybrid cable is implemented by a concentric arrangement of a central optical fiber encased by a sleeve of Kevlar and an outer jacket of FEP(Teflon) insulation and surrounded by an annular (hollow) electrical conductor consisting of two rows of 16 insulated strands each of 33 AWG. A second conductor made of braided copper strands concentrically surrounds the first conductor but is separated therefrom by a layer of FEP insulation. Another layer of insulation surrounds the second conductor.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 23, 1996
Inventors: John A. Taylor, Robert C. Bartlett
  • Patent number: 5430256
Abstract: A multistranded conductor consists of a central bundle of nine strands of small diameter wire (insulated or non-insulated) in a twisted configuration and a series of six outer bundles each being of similar construction, the six outer bundles being equispaced as to each other and circumscribing around the central bundle and being covered with an outer electrically insulating protective covering.

Date of Patent: July 4, 1995
Inventors: John A. Taylor, Robert C. Bartlett
  • Patent number: 5374782
Abstract: An annular conductor consists of a central core (dielectric), circumscribed by a tubular helically wound braid of sets of pairs of strands (insulated or uninsulated), with an electrically insulating protective covering around the braid, and an outermost aluminum foil wrapping circumscribing the protective covering.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 1, 1993
