Patents by Inventor Robert C. Cieslinski

Robert C. Cieslinski has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20110014111
Abstract: A process for preparing oxidized graphite that provides exfoliated graphene, preferably with high surface area. The process uses considerably less chlorate than previously known systems.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 28, 2008
    Publication date: January 20, 2011
Inventors: Mary Anne Leugers, Brian C. Nickles, Michael S. Paquette, Robert C. Cieslinski, Shu Tao Chen
  • Patent number: 7863522
Abstract: Compositions comprising a polyolefin polymer and an expanded graphite exhibit uniform conductivity over a broad range of temperature. In one embodiment, the polyolefin polymer is polypropylene or polyethylene homopolymer or a polypropylene or polyethylene copolymer. The compositions provide uniform conductivity and can be used as a conductive formulation for medium and high voltage cable components.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 2006
Date of Patent: January 4, 2011
    Assignee: Dow Global Technologies Inc.
Inventors: Suh Joon Han, Scott H. Wasserman, Mike S. Paquette, David Pawlowski, Robert C. Cieslinski
  • Publication number: 20080171824
Abstract: Polymers are filled with from 1 to 8% by weight of an expanded graphite having a BET surface area of at least 120 m2/g. Processes for preparing such polymers include forming a dispersion of the expanded graphite in a polymerizable monomer or curable polymer precursor, and polymerizing or curing same in the presence of the expanded graphite. Electroconductive polymers can be prepared in this manner using low levels of the expanded graphite material.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 9, 2007
    Publication date: July 17, 2008
Inventors: Robert C. Cieslinski, Parvinder Singh Walia, David H. Bank
