Stable mounting of a flashlight and accurate directional control of the light beam in the wide variety of work situations is achieved by a clamp assembly (14) jointed to a base assembly (12) by a standard (13). Adjustable legs (22) with grasping foot plates (30, 30') are joined to the base.
