  • Patent number: 5421740
Abstract: Electronic circuit pack and mounting frame combination in which a mating connector joined to conductors coming in for connection to the circuit pack, is held within a connector holder for protection and connection purposes. Straight line action of the connector holder is ensured to ensure proper alignment of the mating connector with the circuit pack connector. It is preferable for the connector holder to be permanently attached to the frame to support the weight of the holder and minimize strain upon the incoming conductors.

  • Patent number: 4994909
Abstract: A signal distribution system is disclosed for distributing television program signals from a central location to a plurality of subscriber locations via respective optical fibers. At the central location, 4 of 64 signals are selected and multiplexed for delivery to each subscriber location. At each subscriber location, an interface unit selects any 2 of the 4 signals for delivery to each of a plurality of video port controllers, for supply to an associated television receiver and video cassette recorder. Requests for program signals initiated by a subscriber at a video port controller are handled by the interface unit, being granted, denied, or fowarded to the central location as appropriate. The system facilitates the provision of pay-per-channel and pay-per-view television program signals.

  • Patent number: 4284854
Abstract: In a telephone switching facility, line circuits are arranged in groups, each including a local ringing battery bus, and a universal high level signal generator (UHLSG) for providing ringing and other high level signals to the line circuits via the local ringing bus. Each generator is responsive to address signals from a controller in the switching facility to generate selected high level signals. The UHLSG includes a switching bridge driven by a width modulated signal stream of periodically occurring pulses having assertion times suitable for developing a high level signal across a network at the output of the switching bridge. The width modulated pulses are generated from period and time signals. The period signal occurs once with each sequence in repetitively generated data byte sequences. The time signal occurs with correspondence between a selected stored data byte and an instant one of the data bytes of the sequence. A plurality of the stored data bytes are arranged in ranges in a storage circuit.
