  • Patent number: 6620766
Abstract: Compositions for preparation of wettable-powder and powder suspension herbicidal products containing low-melting agrochemical agents, such as bromoxynil esters, are provided. Preferred compositions are co-melts of bromoxynil esters with at least one additional herbicide or pesticide, particularly atrazine. The compositions of the invention have higher melting points than the bromoxynil ester component, and therefore have advantages in that the use of solvents and/or carriers in formulations can be avoided or minimized. The compositions can be processed into dry powders without the problems associated with the softening or melting of pure bromoxynil esters during grinding or milling, and without the need for dilution of the product with substantial amounts of inactive carriers. Compositions containing the alloys do not lose selectivity in the presence of oil adjuvants.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 19, 2002
Date of Patent: September 16, 2003
    Assignee: Aventis Cropscience S.A.

  • Patent number: 4638088
Abstract: Novel biphenylyloxy and biphenylylalkoxy aryl acyl urea compounds are provided together with methods for their preparation and the use of said compounds as the active toxicant in pesticidal compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 15, 1984

    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: David T. Chou, Robert C. Ligon
  • Patent number: 4470929
Abstract: This invention relates to the stoichiometric condensation of substituted phenylacetonitriles with dibasic carboxylic anhydrides. The resulting cyano-keto-acids are obtained in good yield and can be used to prepare biologically active 2-aryl-1,3-cyclohexanediones without elaborate purification.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 31, 1983
Date of Patent: September 11, 1984
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
    Inventor: Robert C. Ligon
  • Patent number: 4469642
Abstract: This invention relates to the stoichiometric condensation of substituted phenylacetonitriles with mono-esters of dibasic carboxylic acids. Use of the mono-ester results in substantially purer product by eliminating the bis-condensation observed with use of the diester reactant. The resulting cyano-keto-acids are obtained in good yield and can be used to prepare biologically active 2-aryl-1,3-cyclohexanediones without elaborate purification.
