  • Publication number: 20040006356
Abstract: A diameter reduction mechanism for a fixed seal trocar employing a movable reduction member pivotally connected with a housing (20). The housing (20) is adapted to be mounted on a proximal end of a valve assembly (120) of the trocar (100). The reduction member (50) defines a hole (71) aligned with a passageway (150) defined by the trocar (100). The hole (71) defines an operable area less than an operable area defined by the passageway (150). The diameter reduction mechanism is configured for the ease of selectively employing the reduction member (50) between a first position reducing the operable area of the passageway (150) and a second position wherein the reduction member (50) is clear of the passageway (150). The first position is configured to limit excessive off-axis and angular movements of small diameter surgical instruments and the second position is configured to accommodate an unrestricted use of large diameter surgical instruments in the passageway.

  • Publication number: 20030173077
Abstract: A pressure control system for a wet connect/disconnect hydraulic control line connector includes a reservoir and a piston in said reservoir. The reservoir contains hydraulic fluid or equivalent and the piston is biased by hydrostatic pressure or an atmospheric chamber and hydrostatic pressure. Pressure in the hydraulic line being controlled by the system is controllable based upon the existence or lack of an atmospheric chamber and its placement. The method for controlling pressure in a hydraulic control line wet connector includes running the control system and biasing the piston to control pressure.

  • Patent number: 6521000
Abstract: A woven fabric formed of dyed blended cotton/polyester warp yarns and polyester stretch fill yarns is finished by passing the fabric through a brusher and singer and then through a finishing pad box to apply the finish. Immediately after application of the finish to the yarns, the fabric is passed over pre-drying cans and set by attaching the fabric to an unheated tenter chain for width control. The fabric is then passed over steam drying cans to reduce the moisture level to 8-10%. Subsequently, the fabric is passed through a first compressive shrinking machine, a scrubbing operation and then through a final compressive shrinking machine.

  • Patent number: 6404876
Abstract: System and method for deriving call routing information utilizing a network control data base system and voice recognition for matching spoken word sound patterns to routing numbers needed to set up calls. Public access is provided to a common database via a common access number or code. Terminating parties sponsor the call and originating parties need not be pre-subscribed to use the service. The common access number is used to initiate or trigger the service. The system advantageously operates under the direction of a service control point, which combines technologies for switching, interactive voice response, and voice recognition with the data base to automate the processes of assisting callers in making calls for which they do not know the phone number. Usage information is gathered on completed calls to each terminating party for billing. Three alternative deployments in the U.S.

  • Patent number: 6231030
Abstract: A two wheeled trailed vehicle intended to be towed by a conventional frontal hitch attachment to the rear of an all terrain vehicle (ATV) or other relatively lightweight four wheel drive vehicle has a fixed, rigid, rear vertical hoist supporting an electric winch operated lift cable run through a snatch block at the top end of the hoist. Power is supplied by either a battery or other suitable source such as a small gasoline powered electrical generator on board the two wheeled vehicle and the winch is preferably controlled remotely as well as manually. A cinch attached at either end to a pair of lateral support points well below the snatch block is utilized to secure the end of the load elevated with operation of the winch upon the lift cable through the snatch block and attached to a choker chain which is removed after the load has been taken up by the cinch.
