    Abstract: A ballistic protection system according to an example of the present disclosure includes a sleeve having first and second layers defining a cavity therebetween, with an opening providing access to the cavity. A ballistic protection layer is disposed in the cavity, and is removable through the opening. A holder is operable to mount the sleeve to an article. The second layer is disposed between the holder and the ballistic protection layer.
