  • Publication number: 20230384140
Abstract: A system and method for detecting and analyzing fluid flow. The system includes a turbine that rotates in response to a fluid flow; a sensor that senses positional information of the turbine; a flow detector coupled to the sensor that: periodically captures and stores a value indicative of a position of the turbine; compares the value with a previously collected value; and detects flow if the value and previously collected value differ; and a flow analysis system coupled to the sensor that activates in response to a detected flow, wherein the flow analysis system collects and analyzes sensor data from the sensor.

  • Patent number: 8553841
Abstract: A shielded, low-noise, high-voltage power supply having a plurality of voltage multipliers, each having a toroidal transformer, and collectively producing a high DC output voltage from an AC voltage. A main conductor carries the AC voltage, and is positioned proximate each toroidal transformer of the plurality of voltage multipliers. A conductive shell is conductively connected to the main conductor, and substantially encloses the plurality of voltage multipliers and the main conductor, the conductive shell providing a return path for the AC voltage in the main conductor and providing EMI shielding of the voltage multipliers and the main conductor. Other features are provided, including an intermediate transformer for conditioning/isolating the AC voltages.

  • Publication number: 20080266087
Abstract: A security system includes an optical fiber, a plurality of sensors, and a light source, detector, and a controller. The optical fiber and sensors are attached and positioned along a fence. The optical fiber passes through the sensors. The sensors include a hinged striker having a weight that swings under the influence of gravity and is movable in response to vibration of the fence to compress and bend the optical fiber and attenuate transmission of an optical signal through the optical fiber. In another embodiment, an optical fiber cable having a plurality of optical fibers may be employed to define zones and allow determination of intrusion of a particular portion of the fence. In a further embodiment, a ground sensor is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020131757
Abstract: Control systems and methods are provided for controlling optical energy transmitted through a fiber optic. The systems and methods employ a digital controller circuit coupled to at least one sensor for receiving a sensed level stimulus output therefrom, and coupled to a fiber optic power control device for providing a digitized feedback signal thereto. The digital controller circuit, which can operate in one of a plurality of modes and automatically switch between modes, can include one or more of a digital filter, memory for storing control programs and data, an analog-to-digital converter for converting received sensed level stimulus to a digital signal, a digital communication interface, and a processor for software processing of the digital signal. Automatically powering up or resetting the digital power control system is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5228443
Abstract: A method for estimation and display of current source distribution within a living creature utilizes magnetic measurements taken outside of the living creature combined with 3D anatomical data generated from any procedure, such as MRI or CT scanning, which generates this type of anatomical data. The method is a modified minimum norm technique whereby the solution is limited to areas of the living creature where the electric source is expected.
