  • Patent number: 11937037
Abstract: A housing has a bud portion abutting an elongated stem portion. The bud portion is to fit within an ear. The bud portion has a primary sound outlet at its far end that is to be inserted into an outer ear canal, and abuts the stem portion at its near end. A speaker driver is inside the bud portion. Electronic circuitry inside the housing includes a wireless communications interface to receive audio content over-the-air and in response provides an audio signal to the speaker driver. A rechargeable battery as a power source for the electronic circuitry is located inside a cavity of the stem portion. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 8112340
Abstract: A computerized system and method for evaluating collateralized debt obligations receives user input selecting a scenario or feature, loads data related to a portfolio of securitized assets on to the computer storage medium, determines a scenario default rate using at least one of a beta distributed recovery, a counterparty risk, a loss given default, or a non-zero inter-sector correlation, or models at least one of a short position scenario, a nth to default basket, a forward start date and an equity default swap, and reports a result relating to the scenario default rate.

  • Patent number: 6491751
Abstract: A method is provided for manufacturing cement from a raw material mixture which includes finely ground steel slag. Selected quantities of steel slag and other raw materials are mixed with each other and supplied to a raw mill. The steel slag and other raw materials are preferably ground to a fine, dry powder. For some applications, the dry powder is preferably supplied to a blend tank for further mixing to ensure more uniform commingling of the finely ground steel slag with other finely ground raw materials. The fine dry powder may be supplied to a preheat system and then to the feed end of a kiln. Alternatively, the dry powder may be supplied directly to the feed end of a kiln.

  • Patent number: 4845834
Abstract: A tool clamping mechanism (12) is provided for a tool engaging arm having a frame or chassis (18) which is moved along a path of travel toward a tool (47). The mechanism includes a tool contact member or tongue (60) and preferably includes a pair of spaced apart fingers (40) positioned to engage a groove formed in the tool (47). The tongue (60) is mounted for movement along the path of travel with the frame, such as by means of bar (62) joined to the fingers, a pin (67) supported by the bar and projecting through a slot in the tongue (60), and a rod (72) attached to the tongue which extends into the frame (18) along a bore (75). Such mounting arrangement enables the frame (18) to continue to move toward the tool (47) after the tongue (60) has contacted the tool, thereby achieving relative motion between the frame (18) and tongue (60).

  • Patent number: 4263918
Abstract: Blood pressure is measured with the aid of a programmed data processor such as a microcomputer. Electrical signals are provided in response to the pressure in a blood pressure cuff as the pressure therein is changed to vary the constriction of an artery. The signals are processed to provide a train of pulses corresponding to successive blood pressure pulses and digital signals representing the amplitude of each pulse and the cuff pressure which accompanies each pulse are stored in the memories of the data processor. The processor has means by which the pulses are first selected in accordance with their relative amplitudes and location in the train so as to satisfy criteria for the rejection of artifacts. The processor provides outputs from its memories in which digital signals representing cuff pressures which were acquired at the same time as the pulses which are identified as occurring at the times of the systolic and diastolic events.
