Patent number: 9993021Abstract: Method and system for arranging rod-like elements, in particular cigarettes, on a longitudinal aligning conveyor (11) along the direction of movement of the conveyor, comprising a container (5) for unordered rod-like elements (6), a feeding conveyor (1), a chute (8) and the aligning conveyor (11), wherein the rod-like elements (6) fed from the container (5) are transported by the feeding conveyor (1) to the chute (8), the rod-like elements (6) being arranged on the feeding conveyor (1) transversally to the direction of movement, the bottom of the chute (8) being downwardly slanted at an angle (a) to the horizontal, the intake end of the longitudinally grooved aligning conveyor (11) being located downstream the outlet end (8C) of the chute (8), the aligning conveyor (11) being upwardly slanted at an angle (?) to the horizontal and being adapted to convey the rod-like elements (6) from the outlet end (8C) of the chute (8) upward the aligning conveyor (11) with a speed enabling passing the rod-like elements (6)Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2013Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: INTERNATIONAL TOBACCO MACHINERY POLAND SP. Z O.O.Inventors: Tomasz Jan Kramek, Robert Chmielewski

Patent number: 9149844Abstract: Method and system for arranging cigarette packs according to the position of the filters of the cigarettes contained in the packs, each pack being provided on its outside with a detectable indicator (5), the position of the indicator on the pack (1) in relation to the filters of the cigarettes contained in the packs being predefined, in which the packs are successively delivered in the form of a first stream (7) of the packs travelling on a conveyor (6) to a detection station (8) for detecting the indicators (5) where the position of the indicator on each particular pack is detected, the packs being subsequently arranged depending on the position of the indicator (5) detected thereon by the driving means (12) controlled basing on the information concerning the position of the indicators received from the detection station (8). The arranging consists in dividing the first stream (7) of the packs into at least two separate streams of the travelling packs.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2011Date of Patent: October 6, 2015Assignee: INTERNATIONAL TOBACCO MACHINERY POLAND SP. Z O.O.Inventors: Marek SieredziĆski, Robert Chmielewski

Patent number: 8930016Abstract: Method for arranging rod-like elements including cigarette parts such as filter and tobacco parts, in which elements are delivered to a conveyor having successive sectors which arrange the elements in separate rows along the conveyor. The type, number and location of element transported on the conveyor are determined by at least a single scanning of each successive element on the conveyor. The scanned results are transmitted to a control unit which assigns each sector of the conveyor information according to its contents. The elements are subsequently sorted based on the information received by the control unit according to the type and the number of parts each element is composed of, the orientation of these parts in relation to the direction of movement of the conveyor. Each of the successive elements is transferred to a predetermined receiving area based on the information received from the control unit.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2013Date of Patent: January 6, 2015Assignee: International Tobacco Machinery Poland Sp. z o.o.Inventors: Andrzej Stanikowski, Robert Chmielewski, Wojciech Jerzy Chojnacki, Andrzej Sulkowski, Marek Sieredzinski, Krzysztof Stolarski

Patent number: 8918201Abstract: Method and system for arranging rod-like elements, in which an unordered portion of rod-like elements, composed each of at least one part selected from cigarette parts being filter parts and tobacco parts, is delivered to a conveyor which arranges the elements on the conveyor in a plurality of compartments, longitudinally in each compartment and transversely to the direction of movement of the conveyor. The compartments have a length which receives at least one filter part and at least one tobacco part of a cigarette. The type, number and location of parts of the element received in each compartment is defined by at least a single scanning of each successive compartment of the conveyor. The result of the scanning is transmitted to a control unit and the elements are subsequently sorted based on information received from the control unit.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2013Date of Patent: December 23, 2014Assignee: International Tobacco Machinery Poland Sp. z o.o.Inventors: Andrzej Stanikowski, Robert Chmielewski, Wojciech Jerzy Chojnacki, Andrzej Sulkowski, Marek Sieredzinski, Krzysztof Stolarski
