  • Patent number: 5840779
Abstract: The present invention relates to foam compositions which are expanded with hydrohalocarbon blowing agents in the presence of catalysts which result in a decreased amount of decomposition of the hydrohalocarbon blowing agents to haloalkenes during the polymerization. Thus, the present invention provides compositions comprising polyisocyanate, polyol, hydrohalocarbon blowing agent, surfactant, and at least one catalyst for polymerization of the polyisocyanate and polyol wherein the catalyst is less volatile than N,N-dimethylcyclohexylamine or the catalyst is a tertiary amine having at least one isocyanate-reactive functionality selected from the group consisting of --OH and --NH-- and the catalyst results in a decreased amount of decomposition of the hydrohalocarbon blowing agents to haloalkenes during polymerization of the polyisocyanate and the polyol and especially during use of the foam samples at a temperature of at least about 54.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5764480
Abstract: Disclosed is a media console of a personal computer system that includes a drive housing that can be moved within a base member between an open position and a closed position. A direct access storage device (e.g., floppy disk drive) is disposed within the drive housing and has an opening for receiving a removable storage medium. The open position is characterized in that the opening in the direct access storage device is accessible to a user while the closed position is characterized in that the opening in the direct access storage device is not accessible to the user. The drive housing pivots on pins which are disposed at opposite ends of a back portion of the drive housing. The pins fit within grooves which are located at each end of the base member. A spring coupled to the base member and the drive housing biases the drive housing toward the open position. A latch for latching the drive housing in the closed position is coupled to the base member and the drive housing.

  • Patent number: 5764479
Abstract: Disclosed is a personal computer system that includes a media console coupled to a system unit with a multi-conductor cable. The media console contains a direct access storage device (e.g., floppy disk drive) having an opening for receiving a removable storage medium. The system unit is separate from the media console and includes a microprocessor coupled to a first bus, a non-volatile storage device coupled to the first bus and a power supply for supplying power to the the system. The multi-conductor cable has one end coupled to the media console and another end coupled to the system unit for electrically connecting devices in the media console to devices in the system unit.

  • Patent number: 4549293
Abstract: A covert line of sight time division multiple access communications system omprised of a plurality of geographically separated transceivers consisting of identical hardware and capable of operating either as a master station or a slave station, and when desirable as a repeater station. The system operates with a non-committed master station operating within a predetermined power circle of operation whereby multiple slave stations and/or repeaters communicate with each other by way of the master station in a one half duplex mode at a single frequency in the millimeter wave frequency range between 54 and 58 GHz.

  • Patent number: 4268832
Abstract: To reduce guidance errors in a microwave landing system from false signals eflected by objects along runways, the transmitting antenna radiates an elliptically polarized beam. At the airborne receiver an antenna, such as a pyramidal horn, maintains the separation of the horizontal and vertical components. These components are separated and then split on an equal power basis. One part of the vertical field component is shifted by 90 degrees and added to one part of the horizontal component in a detector, whose output is in effect like that of a circularly polarized receiver. The other parts of the horizontal and vertical components are separately detected. The outputs of the three detectors are combined in a multiplier, to yield a resultant output. For a very broad angular distribution the undesired reflected signals are strongly attenuated.
