Abstract: Technologies are described for cost based management of cache entries stored in a computer memory. In one example, a plurality of cache entries may be stored at a cache in a computer memory and the cache entries may have a cost measure associated with individual cache entries. A cost measure may represent a computing cost of an application to generate a cache entry. An incoming cache entry may be received at the cache, where the incoming cache entry has a cost measure associated with the incoming cache entry. In response to receiving the incoming cache entry, a cache entry that has a lower cost measure than the cost measure for other cache entries may be identified for eviction from the cache. The cache entry identified for eviction may be evicted from the cache, and the incoming cache entry may be written into the cache stored in the computer memory.

Abstract: Described are techniques for reducing inaccurate values in databases by managing the order in which processes are enqueued and executed. A modification process to modify a first value in a database may be received. A precomputation process that modifies values dependent on the first value may be enqueued prior to enqueuing of the modification process to ensure that the modification process does not occur if the precomputation process fails. The modification process may be executed prior to executing the precomputation process to ensure that the precomputation process acts to modify the dependent values using the modified version of the first value.

Abstract: An assembly and method for moving bulk items from a first location to a second location is disclosed. The items are moved from the first location to the second location through a pick-up head. Vacuum pressure is supplied to the head to pick-up an item at the first location and carry the item to the second location. A detector is located between the first location and the second location to detect if an item has been picked up by the head. If no item is detected, the head is closed to the vacuum pressure through a control mechanism or closure element.

Abstract: An apparatus having a damper mount device for holding a damper element being operable for dampening a mast arm structure harmonics or bounce by creating a wind vortex when interacting with wind. An extension member component extends the damper mount device above a mast arm structure onto which the damper mount device is installed into. A damper bracket assembly being configured to hold the damper element with an attachment means. A strap adapter assembly being configured to attach the damper mount device onto the mast arm structure. An adjustment ball implement being configured to form a ball-in-socket implement operable for a rotational adjustment or tuning of an orientation of the damper mount device and the damper element.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a frangible base having a base top, a base bottom, and sides. The bottom including a plurality of openings for joining the frangible base to a surface and for passing wiring into the frangible base. The sides having at least one opening for accessing an interior of the frangible base. A stand pipe includes a pipe top, a pipe bottom, and mounting points disposed on a side of the stand pipe. The pipe bottom is configured for joining to the base top. The mounting points are configured for joining to a signaling equipment. A tether is joinable to the frangible base and the surface, wherein the tether is operable for maintaining the apparatus within a locality of a place on the surface, where the frangible base is joined to, upon a breakage of the frangible base.

Abstract: A poultry front half processing module is shown and described. The module includes a rotatable wing bracket for securely engaging the wings of the front half to allow more accurate processing and easier deboning and transfer operations.

Abstract: A formwork system for use in slip form casting central cores of high rise buildings provides a rebate form for a rebate at the level of each floor slab which is subsequently to be cast. The rebate form is designed to carry ferrules to be cast into the core at the level of the rebate to provide anchoring points for incorporation of reinforcement associated with the floor slab. The ferrules are carried from the rebate form via plugs which are stripped from the ferrules after casting when the rebate form and main slip form to which it is attached is withdrawn.

Abstract: A support stand for a lifting anchor to be incorporated into a concrete component during casting thereof is formed from two identical components of bent wire assembled together to form an upper support frame and legs projecting downwardly from the frame. The two components are connected by only two welds, each at one of two zones of intersection of the two components.

Abstract: An anchor for embedment into a concrete component, has a head via which load is applied to the anchor in use and an anchoring formation provided by at least one leg extending from the head and profiled along an edge thereof so as to lock into the surrounding concrete. The profile is formed by a series of longitudinally spaced formations each of generally saw-toothed shape with a leading edge of each formation inclining towards the head such that on application of a pulling load to the head the leg will lock tighter into the concrete with increasing load. In one form the anchor is a lifting anchor and having a pair of such legs extending from the head which is adapted for releasable engagement with lifting equipment, and the profile is formed along an inner edge of each of the legs. In an alternative form the anchor is a plate anchor in which the head of the anchor is formed by a plate and a set of such legs extends from each of two opposite sides of the plate transversely to the plane of the plate.

Abstract: In a powder driven fastening tool, a channel is included for feeding a strip of explosive powder cartridges to a firing mechanism. A trigger is included for actuating the firing mechanism, wherein the trigger is movable between a first position and a second position. An advancing lever is pivotally coupled to the tool, the advancing lever having a strip engagement portion for indexing the strip which extends into the channel. An advance link is cammingly engaged with the advancing lever and is operationally associated with the trigger so that the strip engagement portion is in a first position in the channel when the trigger is in the first position and so the strip engagement portion is in a second position when the trigger is in the second position.

Abstract: A method enabling the selective packaging of a product comprising a plurality of items of varying weights, such as chicken parts, and subsequent even-weight scannable packaging of the same. The method includes the steps of weighing each individual part; sorting each individual parts into a holding bin; accumulating a plurality of parts in each bin until a predetermined weight of parts is reached in a first of the bins; emptying the first bin of its parts; and packaging the parts in the appropriate package. The steps of emptying and packaging the parts in accord with the method of the present invention would be repeated as the bins were determined to hold the appropriate weight of product.
