  • Publication number: 20110099634
Abstract: The prevalence rate of a file to be subject to behavior based heuristics analysis is determined, and the aggressiveness level to use in the analysis is adjusted, responsive to the prevalence rate. The aggressiveness is set to higher levels for lower prevalence files and to lower levels for higher prevalence files. Behavior based heuristics analysis is applied to the file, using the set aggressiveness level. In addition to setting the aggressiveness level, the heuristic analysis can also comprise dynamically weighing lower prevalence files as being more likely to be malicious and higher prevalence files as being less likely. Based on the applied behavior based heuristics analysis, it is determined whether or not the file comprises malware. If it is determined that the file comprises malware, appropriate steps can be taken, such as blocking, deleting, quarantining and/or disinfecting the file.

  • Patent number: 7577893
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved decoding scheme for use in a concatenated channel decoder. In the present invention, the decoding of the concatenated code is done iteratively to increase the confidence for any corrected symbols. As a result, the overall performance of the decoder is improved. This iterative process comprises using a Maximal a posteriori (MAP) decoder which generates decoded information, to include Erasure Information. The output of the MAP decoder is then supplied to a Reed Solomon (RS) decoder, which attains better error correction performance by using this Erasure Information. This improved output of the RS decoder is then supplied back to the MAP decoder, thereby improving the performance of the system.

  • Publication number: 20090170424
Abstract: The present invention implements a method and system for receiving content in a Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service (SDARS) system. The method includes receiving a first signal stream in an SDARS receiver, the first signal stream including the SDARS content. The method further includes receiving a second signal stream in the SDARS receiver, the second signal stream including the SDARS content, the second signal stream being delayed relative to the first signal stream by a predetermined delay time. The method further includes combining the first signal stream and the second signal stream in to a composite signal that includes the SDARS content. The method further includes powering off a portion of the SDARS receiver, wherein the powering off of the portion of the SDARS receiver does not cause a disruption in the composite signal.

  • Publication number: 20080075211
Abstract: A continuously tunable linear phase filter having a ground connection includes a three-terminal Bessel filter having an input terminal for receiving a signal, an output terminal for delivering a signal, a control terminal for receiving a control voltage, and a varactor. Each of the terminals are in signal communication with each other and the varactor is in signal communication with each of the terminals and ground, the varactor being responsive to the control voltage at the control terminal. The capacitance of the varactor is continuously adjustable in response to a change in the control voltage at the control terminal, thereby enabling continuous tuning of the continuously tunable linear phase filter in response to the control voltage.

  • Publication number: 20050019146
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for selectively displacing at least two holding devices which can be individually displaced along a z-axis by means of a central z-drive and by a selective magnetic coupling to a common lifting element. The exclusively magnetic coupling between the holding devices and the lifting element ensures a largely bounce-free displacement of the coupled holding devices, during the corresponding shock-free displacement of the lifting element. The coupling is especially advantageous during the transport of components as the bounce-free displacement from falling or sliding. The invention also relates to a fitting head for transporting a plurality of components, the holding devices being arranged along a line or on grid points of a two dimensional grid. The holding devices can be individually coupled to the movement of a common lifting element.
