  • Patent number: 6062696
Abstract: A bubble-shaped display screen is adapted to fit over a "fish-eye" portal to a modular playground compartment, and may either replace or augment the transparent portal window. A projection device projects video images into the display screen. The display screen and projection device may be contained within an encapsulating enclosure which readily attaches to the modular playground compartment over an existing portal, allowing retro-fitting of existing playground structures. A beam-splitter and mirrors permit the projected video image to be viewed on either of two display screens mounted on either end of the enclosure encapsulating the projection device, permitting children within the playground structure and individuals outside the playground structure to view the same image.

  • Patent number: 5864431
Abstract: A display system employs rear projection to a curved, translucent display or image screen. A lens between the projecting device and the display screen eliminates or reduces distortion by altering a convergence of the projected image, transforming the projected image from diverging to converging for a convex rear projection screen surface or further diverging the image for a concave rear projection screen surface. A lightweight and economical Fresnel lens may be employed for this purpose.
