  • Publication number: 20240416062
Abstract: A capnography mask includes a mask body having a cover portion configured to cover at least the nostrils of a patient's nose and forms a breathing cavity for inhalation of inflow gas and exhalation of expired gas. The mask also includes an inflow port fluidly connected to the breathing cavity for delivering the inflow gas to the breathing cavity, an outflow port fluidly connected to the breathing cavity for delivering the expired gas out of the breathing cavity, and a capnography port fluidly connected to the breathing cavity for delivering a sample of the expired gas to a capnography machine. The inflow, outflow and capnography ports may be unitarily formed by respective portions of the mask body to form a unitary mask structure. The ports may include respective tube segments that may cooperate with respective ribs to distribute load away from the alar fibrofatty tissue of the patient's nose, thereby improving comfort.

  • Patent number: 10632255
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for providing a plurality of injections from a fluid reservoir. The apparatus includes a fluid controller for controlling the flow of fluid from the fluid reservoir to a needle. An actuator selectively actuates the fluid controller to provide a dose of medicament from the fluid reservoir. The fluid controller also is configured to calculate the volume of fluid in the fluid reservoir required to provide a dose having a desired number of units of medicament for an injection. The apparatus may also include a detector configured to detect a characteristic indicative of the fluid pressure in the needle. The method includes selecting the number of units to be dispensed during an injection, automatically calculating the injection volume required to dispense the selected number of units based on the calculated unit volume and tracking the total number of units dispensed during a series of injections.

  • Patent number: 7895991
Abstract: A carbon canister adapted for use in an automotive vehicle is disclosed. The system has a carbon canister housing defining a cavity adapted for holding carbon pellets with the housing including: a port and a strainer disposed between the port and the cavity with a portion of a surface of the strainer being convex with respect to the cavity wherein the strainer has a plurality of orifices. The integral strainer obviates the need for a foam filter to prevent the carbon pellets from escaping from the carbon canister housing through the port. In some applications, the carbon canister system has three ports: one to the engine, one to atmosphere, and one to a vent of the fuel tank, each having a strainer disposed in the port.

  • Patent number: 4642900
Abstract: A device for selecting shims to take up the end play of bearings in an automotive power train such as the bearings in the transaxle. The shim selector assembly consists of a bridge with supporting legs, a gauging cylinder and a gauge plunger telescoped in the gauging cylinder. The bridge is placed on the mating surface of the cover of the transaxle housing and the gauging cylinder projected into and bottomed on the face of the bore in the housing cover for the bearing. The gauging cylinder is fixed in place with a set screw. The gauge plunger is now telescoped in the gauge cylinder. Thereafter the bridge and gauging cylinder assembly is inverted and with the legs resting on the mating face of the housing, the gauge plunger is brought into contact with the face of the bearing being measured for end play. The gap between the upper end of the gauge plunger and the lower end of the gauging cylinder measures the thickness of the shim which is of the proper thickness to take up the end play in the bearing.
