  • Patent number: 9690711
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for dynamic caching module selection for optimized data deduplication. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for dynamic caching module selection for optimized data deduplication is provided. The method includes processing historically relevant byte streams in each of a multiplicity of byte caching modules to populate a table of associations between different classifications of the historically relevant byte streams and correspondingly optimal ones of the multiplicity of the byte caching modules. The method also includes receiving a request to retrieve data from a data source and classifying the request. The method yet further includes consulting the table to identify, from amongst the multiplicity of byte caching modules, a particular byte caching module associated with the classification of the request. Finally, the method includes deduplicating the data in the identified byte caching module.

  • Publication number: 20160162218
Abstract: Distributed data deduplication may include or utilize containers attached to nodes or byte caches in a cluster or enterprise networks. The containers may store a mapping of byte caches and hashes the byte caches hold. An encoding byte cache may communicate with its attached container to determine which nodes should send which hash values, and may encode an output stream accordingly. Decoding byte cache decompresses the output stream by communicating with its attached container for receiving hash values and associated content from one or more byte caches specified in the output stream.

  • Patent number: 8095670
Abstract: In a method and system for creating a federation of a plurality of enterprise service buses (ESBs), a plurality of ESB nodes provide connectivity to one or more services. According to a protocol, at least a portion of the ESB nodes transmit policy-based service advertisement messages to other ESB nodes, wherein the policy-based service advertisement messages include service state information. In response to receiving the policy-based service advertisement messages, each of the ESB nodes stores the service state information received from other ESB nodes in respective distributed registries to create a local view of routable service endpoints in the federation. Each of the ESB nodes then uses its respective distributed registry to make routing decisions when routing service requests.

  • Patent number: 8032636
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are disclosed for dynamically provisioning clusters of middleware appliances. In one embodiment, the method includes referencing a resource measurement from a plurality of middleware appliances. The middleware appliances process one or more service domains and the resource measurement includes processing resources consumed by each middleware appliance for each of the one or more service domains. The method may also include determining an implementation plan based on a performance goal and one or more resource calculations. The implementation plan specifies service domain instances to activate and service domain instances to deactivate on the plurality of middleware appliances. The method may also include dynamically enabling and disabling the service domain instances on the plurality of middleware appliances based on the implementation plan.

  • Publication number: 20090077251
Abstract: In a method and system for creating an interconnection between autonomous enterprise service buses (ESB) federations, each one of the ESB federations comprise at least one ESB deployment, which further include a plurality of ESB nodes that provide connectivity to one or more services. According to a protocol, a first ESB node is designated in each of the ESB federations as a boundary node that is responsible for establishing and maintaining an interconnection between at least two of the ESB federations. Advertisement messages are transmitted between the boundary nodes that include routing information. In response to receiving the advertisement messages, each of the boundary nodes store the routing information received from other boundary nodes in respective distributed registries to create a local view of routable service endpoints in the federation. Each of the boundary nodes then use the respective distributed registries to make routing decisions when routing service requests.

  • Patent number: 5564232
Abstract: A tarpaulin holddown device or retainer having a handle and a shaft, with a pointed or tapered tip at the end of the shaft. The tarp retainer has a stop member positioned along the shaft between the handle and tip, and a narrow hole extending through the shaft slightly below the stop. When used to fasten a grommeted tarpaulin to a soft soil or tufted area, the tarp retainer is placed through the grommet until the stop contacts the tarp. A retaining clip or O-ring is then inserted into the narrow hole in the shaft underneath the tarp, to hold the tarp retainer in place. The tarp retainer is then easily inserted into or removed from the ground by hand by pushing down or pulling up on the handle, thereby holding the tarp to the ground for collecting and moving debris while conveniently staying with the tarp in position for reuse when the tarp is moved.
