  • Patent number: 10987060
Abstract: A subcutaneously implantable device includes a housing including a receiving portion at a back end of the housing, a clip attached to the receiving portion, and an electrode. The clip is configured to move within the receiving portion between an open position and a closed position to increase or decrease an opening between the housing and the clip to anchor the device to a muscle, a bone, and/or a first tissue. The clip includes an anchoring portion that extends across a top of the housing, a mast portion within the receiving portion of the housing, and an anchoring structure extending from the anchoring portion. The anchoring structure is configured to attach to the muscle, the bone, and/or the first tissue. The electrode is configured to contact an organ, a nerve, the first tissue, and/or a second tissue.

  • Patent number: 10980562
Abstract: Methods and surgical tools for treating back pain use a spinal facet debridement tool with cautery and denuding action and minimally invasive protocol that can denude and cauterize soft tissue associated with a synovial capsule of the spinal facet joint whereby the synovial capsule between the spinal facet joint is removed by rotating the head of the combination debrider tool at a low rotation speed to scrape and cauterize the end plate receptor region so as to denude and denervate the joint preventing regeneration, and thereby treating back pain.

  • Patent number: 10595919
Abstract: Surgical tools with an upwardly extending tubular support member having a longitudinally extending open channel are provided/described. The tubular support member has a wall surrounding the open channel. The tubular support member may include a base pivotably attached to the tubular support member so that a pivot axis extends above the bottom surface of the base across a bottom portion of the tubular support member to allow the tubular support member to pivot back and forth over a bottom surface of the base. The tubular support member can cooperate with downwardly extending k-wires that anchor to patient bone and/or a strap. One or all of the base, strap and/or k-wires may be used with surgical tools for treating back pain use a spinal facet debridement tool with cautery and denuding action and minimally invasive protocol that can denude and cauterize soft tissue associated with a synovial capsule of the spinal facet joint.

  • Patent number: 10099244
Abstract: The present invention provides actuation mechanisms that incorporate a transmission assembly that allows the mechanisms to cause actuation of workpieces according to a plurality of transmission modes (e.g., at least one forward transmission mode and at least one reverse transmission mode) on demand. Motion, direction, and/or force can be controlled by selecting the corresponding transmission mode. The mechanisms preferably are trigger-actuated by hand (i.e., manually) to cause movement of a workpiece in a desired direction. Desired directions can be linear or nonlinear. The same hand used for trigger action can also be used to change transmission modes in many modes of practice, even while using substantially the same grip used for trigger actuation. In other instances, actuation can be automated rather than manual. Preferably, both actuation and witching among transmission modes can be accomplished with one hand, even while maintaining substantially the same grip that is used for actuation.
