    Abstract: A dimensionally stable fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic magnetic tape data cartridge case, capable of being operated by a high speed tape drive and able to endure rapid tape acceleration and deceleration without becoming warped or otherwise damaged. The cartridge case includes a fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic backplate and cover. The axles for the tape spools and other rotating components of the cartridge are preferably molded into the backplate and extend through boss circumscribed holes in the cover which provide additional dimensional stability to the cartridge.
