  • Patent number: 7789134
Abstract: A whipstock/billet anchor can be set in open hole such that one or more slips initially shift laterally near the lower end or below the whipstock/billet while the upper end reacts and gets pushed against the wellbore. Then with the top of the whipstock/billet against the wellbore another slip gets a bite to secure the whipstock/billet in a manner where the wellbore gives it some support near its upper end as a drill bit engages the whipstock/billet to make a lateral. Open and cased hole application is contemplated. The anchor also allows running in and supporting a tubular string below and a tool above with the further option of cocking the tool for better support before securing it.

  • Patent number: 7064525
Abstract: A method for improving vehicle battery state-of-charge (SOC) for initial vehicle customer delivery is disclosed. The method is focused on vehicle assembly plant practices and ensuring that battery discharge is minimized or eliminated during the vehicle assembly process. The method includes determining the available maximum percentage of duty cycle voltage output from the vehicle alternator and determining a minimum idle boost speed necessary to provide minimum discharge or positive charge to the battery when the vehicle's accessories are in the “on” state during vehicle assembly. The method further includes programming the vehicle's controllers to force the maximum percentage of duty cycle voltage output available and the minimum idle speed necessary to provide minimum battery discharge or positive charge during the earliest part of the vehicle life.

  • Publication number: 20040082896
Abstract: An apparatus for performing spinal therapy includes a base assembly having a pair of spaced-apart parallel guide posts extending upwardly from a platform. The guide posts are capable of being pivoted between a first vertical position, and a second angled position for performing different stretches. Two lift bars are slidably attached to the guide posts, with a cross bar interconnected therebetween. A mattress is disposed between the guide posts and over at least a portion of the cross bar. The mattress is reinforced using resiliently flexible slats to cause the mattress to bow while the lift bar assembly is raised.

The guide posts are capable of being pivoted between a first vertical position, and a second angled position for performing different stretches. Two lift bars are slidably attached to the guide posts, with a cross bar interconnected therebetween. A cushioned pad is disposed between the guide posts and over at least a portion of the cross bar. An actuator, including a motor operably connected to the lift assembly, is used to selectively raise and lower the lift bar assembly. A cable and pulley system is incorporated into the apparatus for raising and lowering the lift bar assembly in a uniform matter.

  • Publication number: 20040063550
Abstract: An exercise device includes a frame typically an arching member extending between generally parallel lower members having wheels operably coupled thereto. A harness extends from the frame, and the height of the harness is selectively adjustable by a user within the harness. A controller accessible to a user activates a motor and raises and lowers a cable to adjust the height of the harness, and thus the weight load on the user's feet while operating the device. A handlebar extends to one or more of the wheels for selectively steering the device. A brake system accessible to the user enables stopping of the device. The device may include a motor operably coupled to a wheel for propelling the device, and a throttle control for selecting the speed of the motor. Thus, the user of the device can selectively alter the impact weight and speed while operating the device.
