    Abstract: A filtered electrical header assembly for circuit boards. The assembly includes a housing supporting a plurality of terminals, filter means electrically coupled to the terminals, grounding means coupled to the filter means, and at least one conductive fastener for attaching the grounding means to the housing, for providing a means for mounting the housing to a circuit board, and for providing a grounding path from the grounding means through the at least one fastener to the circuit board. Two embodiments are disclosed: one employing tubular filter elements surrounding conductor pins, another employing a monolithic planar capacitor in contact with conductor pins. The invention permits a filtering capability to be incorporated into a standardized header assembly without affecting standardization.

    Abstract: A filtered electrical connector having low insertion loss comprises a metal shell having center and intermediate electrical contacts therein, the center contact, intermediate contact and shell being electrically isolated from each other by first and second inner dielectric members; grounded filter members; and impedance members electrically connected in series with the center and intermediate contacts. The impedance members are in inductor and resistor mounted in series to electrical terminals on a circuit board having conductive paths thereon, the circuit board being disposed within the metal shell and in electrical connection with the center and intermediate contact members. The discrete filter network provides an insertion loss to high frequency interference.

    Abstract: A grounding clip is provided for grounding a filtered electrical connector having a planar capacitor, upon mounting a forward end of the connector to a ground plane of a panel. The grounding clip is secured to a mounting surface of a mounting flange of the connector and has a spring contact arm extending into a cavity of the connector to both engage a ground electrode of the planar capacitor and secure the grounding clip to the connector. An adaptor clip is also provided to be secured, if desired, to the mounting flange and the grounding clip for providing grounding if it is desired to mount the rearward end of the connector of the panel.

    Abstract: A solderless filtered connector is formed by a first housing of insulative material defining a plurality of filter passages, with resilient tines at least at one end of each passage. The first housing is plated with a conductive material to form a ground plane. Each filtered terminal is formed by a pin terminal having a compliant portion which engages an inner conductive surface of a respective filter sleeve, a filter locating shoulder and oppositely directed mating ends. Each filtered terminal is mounted in a respective passage with the tines making a resilient contact with the outer conductive surface of the filter. The connector can also include a second housing and front insert to enclose the filtered terminals and a metal shell for mating purposes.

    Abstract: A solderless filtered connector is formed by a first insulative housing which is selectively plated with conductive material and is profiled to receive therein a second insulative housing carrying a plurality of filtered terminals in a spaced array. Ground is established by a multi-apertured grounding member which receives the respective filter sleeves therein and is profiled to make wiping engagement with the plated portion of the first housing. A metal shell secured to the first housing defines a mating face for the connector and completes the ground path. Each terminal has a compliant intermediate portion which is received in the bore of a respective filter sleeve to make solderless engagement therewith.

The latching-ejector device comprises a generally W-shaped portion having two leg members integral with and depending therefrom for mounting onto the receptacle housing outside of the sidewalls. The W-shaped portion provides a locking lip for intended engagement with an upper surface of the plug housing, and each leg member includes a stud portion projecting through a respective aperture into supporting engagement with a bottom surface of the plug housing.

    Abstract: A hybrid filter header is disclosed for use in electro-explosive devices to assure shorting of the contacts in a disconnected condition thereby avoiding accidental detonation of the explosive device. The subject hybrid filter header is mounted in a receptacle member of a connector and includes at least two pin contacts, each mounted in a respective filter sleeve and secured in a ground plane adopted to be forced fitted into the receptacle housing. The terminals are encompassed between a pair of locking spring members that effect shorting of the terminals to the ground plane in a disconnected condition. The mating plug member includes an insulated portion which spreads the spring members to disengage them from the terminals and to engage therewith in a locking relationship to hold the connector members together.
