  • Patent number: 9649796
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a sensor. In the method, a sensor element having an IC is pre-overmolded to produce a preform, wherein the preform is designed in such a way that the preform can accommodate electrical contacts for the sensor having various dimensions and/or in various positions by press fitting. The electrical contacts are pressed into holes/recesses of the preform, the connections of the IC of the sensor are connected to the electrical contacts, and the preform is inserted into an injecting mold and is overmolded to produce the finished sensor. In this way, sensors for different applications can be produced in a substantially standardized manner. The invention further relates to a sensor.

  • Patent number: 4472776
Abstract: An apparatus having a device for measuring speed by counting pulses and a device for measuring pressure by counting pulses wherein a first memory stores advance correction coefficients and a second memory stores a value with respect to full-load advance. An advance counter is connected to the outputs of the second memory and to the highest-weight output of the pressure counter by way of a series connection of a binary rate multiplier, a divider which divides by M and a switching device.

  • Patent number: 4367710
Abstract: A spark coil control device for an internal combustion engine with several cylinders, including a target with a given number of protrusions distributed regularly around its periphery which is rotating with the crankshaft, at least one fixed-position primary element associated with the target, an ignition coil, a rotating spark distributor for inducing explosions within the various cylinders of the engine is succession by the intermediary of the associated sparkplugs, a stage for processing of the data signal retrieved by the position primary element which inter alia provides a synchronization signal and a speed of rotation signal, an electronic ignition advance calculator which at a first output provides a gross numerical value for ignition advance angle and, at a second output, a gross numerical value for the angle of conduction of the coil, and a power stage for commanding the ignition coil.

  • Patent number: 4366792
Abstract: An angle of advance correction signal generator responsive to the presence of ping signals produced in a controlled ignition internal combustion heat engine of the type in which a pre-ping threshhold and a ping threshhold is determined and a pre-ping signal and a ping signal is produced in the event that a pre-pinging or a pinging condition is detected exceeding respective of said threshholds, wherein said pre-ping signal and said ping signal are produced for each cylinder of the engine taken successively in predetermined order. The generator includes a multiplexor for applying pre-ping and ping signals to respective processing circuits provided for respective cylinders. In the processing circuits predetermined numerical values are loaded into respective pre-ping and ping numerical counters, which are then decremented upon the occurrence of predetermined multiples of engine rotations.

  • Patent number: 4347820
Abstract: A process and apparatus for electronic angle of advance correction in response to pinging and engine charge, which calculates and adjusts the optimization of the advance of an internal combustion engine by detecting pinging, including an integrator with an integration capacitor, and a microprocessor including in particular a counter connectable to a pressure transducer, a calculating stage for calculating the average integrated noise value, a calculating stage for calculating a pinging detection threshold, and a calculating stage for calculating the angle decrementing value to be transmitted to an output stage.

  • Patent number: 4321580
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the angular position of a point in rotational motion which includes a disk coupled to rotate with the rotating part. The disk includes a plurality of alternating teeth and spaces located about its periphery. At least one of the teeth has been removed to form an absolute or reference mark. A transducer is located adjacent to the disk to produce an electrical signal representative of the passage of teeth and spaces past the transducer. The electrical signal is processed to produce one or more output signals representative of the instantaneous angular position of the rotating part. Accurate results are produced even when large variations in instantaneous speed of the rotating part occur.

  • Patent number: 4300503
Abstract: A novel process and system for computing and adjusting the optimum ignition advance in an internal combustion engine wherein knocking is detected by means of an accelerometer rigidly fastened to the cylinder head of the engine. An output from the accelerometer is integrated, converted into digital form, and processed by processing circuits to derive an average value C proportional to n preceding knocks and two comparison thresholds S.sub.1 and S.sub.2, each a linear function of the preceding average value C. The accelerometer output integrated and converted into digital form is compared with each of these thresholds and the existence of a preknocking or audible knocking value is deduced and then used to act on the programmed electronic ignition advance.
