  • Patent number: 4173279
Abstract: A fluid metering and transfer system is disclosed in which, in a preferred embodiment, a fluid contained in a reservoir is transferred in small amounts by a dipper wire to a conduit extending through the bottom of the reservoir. The fluid is then distributed by gravity flow through the tube to the desired location. The dipper wire is rigidly mounted onto a pivotable shaft. When the present invention is used for transferring lubricating liquid to machines, the shaft of the present invention can be coupled to a shaft of the machine so that the present invention only transfers and distributes the lubricating liquid when the machine is operating.

  • Patent number: 4110859
Abstract: There is disclosed a passenger loading ramp for transfer of passengers between a terminal and an airplane parked in a parking station adjacent thereto. Adjacent the terminal is a swing support post including means for accommodating swinging about a vertical axis. A rigid passenger walkway is carried on one end from such swing post by means of a horizontally extending pivot and projects to the parking station. An elevating post is disposed intermediate the swing post and parking station for adjusting the elevation of the free extremity of the walkway and includes a gear rack arrangement for swinging the walkway laterally relative thereto. A cab is suspended from the free extremity of the walkway by means of a parallelogrammatic linkage which is coupled with the swing post and operative to maintain the cab floor level irrespective of the elevation of the free extremity of such walkway.

  • Patent number: 4068965
Abstract: A single piece coupling for shafts comprises opposite half sections each with an arcuate recess for engaging one side of two axially aligned shafts. There are also spaces forming a keyway for reception of a conventional key with which the shafts are provided. The half sections are initially formed in a spread apart condition with captive edges secured to each other by a section of the coupling metal forming thereby a hinge. After adjacent ends of the shafts are slid into the coupling to abutting positions free edges of the half sections are bolted together drawing the half sections simultaneously into engagement with the shafts and the key.

  • Patent number: 4015696
Abstract: A centrifugal braking device of compact design uses at least one centrifugal body pivotally connected to a sprocket to shift from a rest position to a stop position to brake movement of a rotary shaft under certain conditions. Thus, depending upon the rotary speed and/or acceleration of the rotary shaft, the centrifugal body will pivotally shift from a rest position to a stop position to prevent rotation of the shaft. A substantially stationary annular member disposed concentrically around the hub of the sprocket has an inner bore which defines a stop for the centrifugal body when said body is shifted outwardly. Said outer bore also defines a cam surface to aid displacement of the centrifugal body from the stop position to the rest position when the shaft is rotated in a specified direction.
