Abstract: Systems and methods for optimizing routes and water usage are disclosed herein. An example method includes determining calendar data for a traveler, the calendar data including trip information for a trip, determining a current water supply for the traveler, determining water generation capability of a vehicle used by the traveler for the trip, predictively determining a water estimate for the trip, determining when the water supply and the water generation capability substantially correspond to the water estimate, and providing an alert to the traveler when the water supply and the water generation capability are insufficient relative to the water estimate.

Abstract: A method and a system for automating a due diligence process are provided. The method includes: receiving identification information that relates to a customer; selecting, from a global set of due diligence questions based on the received identification information, a group of due diligence questions to be applied to the customer; determining a document source via which documents containing relevant information about the customer are accessible; retrieving, from the document source, a set of documents that relate to the potential customer; extracting, from the retrieved documents, information that is relevant to the selected group of due diligence questions with respect to the customer; and outputting the extracted information. Each of the determination of the document source, the retrieval of the set of documents, and the extraction of the relevant information is performed automatically by executing artificial intelligence algorithms that implement machine learning techniques.

Abstract: A subject property and a corresponding default pool of property sales are determined as a general market for the subject property. Revised property characteristics are submitted to define a new sub-market for the subject property. In connection with this, a map image is displayed depicting the subject property along with properties included and excluded from the sub-market. Functional relationships between selectable property characteristics for the general market and the sub-market are generated, and graphs depicting the same are rendered accordingly. In one example, the distribution of any selectable property characteristic for the general market and the sub-market are concurrently displayed in a graphical image. Interfaces are also provided for individually including and excluding properties from a sub-market.

In addition, the user is able to purchase the application via the POS terminal either before or after the user has viewed/downloaded the demonstration application. After purchase, the application may be downloaded directly from the application server onto the POS terminal. Further, information associated with the demonstration applications downloaded to each POS terminal may be reported to a manufacturer of each demonstration application.

Abstract: The ‘IP Diagnostics’ software is a new and innovative method of aiding the deployment and troubleshooting of IP enabled POS terminals. Its purpose is to identify where a failure in the IP connection is occurring. The IP Diagnostics application does this by testing major failure points within the IP chain from the POS terminal to the host.

Abstract: A Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum receiver is described in which a complex spread spectrum signal is cross correlated by four digitally matched filters. The filters and subsequent multipliers correlate the in-phase and quadrature components as well as the current and previous symbols. The result is a more robust signal acquisition at very low signal to noise ratios.

A message center enclosure includes a case, a driver board assembly configured to generate a display, a pivot clamp assembly coupled to the case, and configured to couple the driver board assembly to the case, in a manner that is devoid of apertures through the driver board assembly for coupling the driver board assembly to the case. A method of manufacturing a message center enclosure includes obtaining a case having opposing first and second ends and at least one pivot clamp assembly, sliding a driver board assembly into the case, and sliding the pivot clamp assembly into the case.

Abstract: A cartridge-type valve is disclosed which is capable of having the flow of hot and cold water to the valve reversed for use in back to back installations. An adapter gasket is provided which has three independent pathways. In one position, the adapter effects respective fluid communication between hot and cold water inlet pipes and hot and cold water inlets in the stationary valve portion. In a second position, when the adapter gasket is removed from the valve body and turned over, communication between the hot and cold water inlet pipes and the hot and cold water inlets in the stationary valve portion is reversed. In both positions, the adapter gasket also effects communication between the outlet of the valve and the outlet of a valve housing, and further it seals all connections at all times.

Abstract: A method for making caps of eight different sizes for each of a persons teeth allows premaking caps that will fit almost any tooth of any patient; caps are preferably prepared from a commercially available quartz or silicon dioxide filled acrylic material called Artglass r; the caps allow curing a material such as Charisma r with ultraviolet light thereby allowing a practitioner to place a cap containing Charisma r over a tooth prepared for capping; settle the cap in place; remove any excess and expose the capped tooth with a ultraviolet light for about three minutes to form a solidly capped tooth in one visit to the practitioners office.

Abstract: A tool for cleaning a laser lens of an optical disc drive unit. The tool includes a rigid, round member which is constructed and arranged for insertion into the receiving area of an optical disc drive unit. The member has a central aperture that allows clearance for the drive spindle of the optical disc drive unit, permitting the drive spindle to rotate freely after the optical disc drive unit has been activated. A cleaning pad is attached to the bottom surface of the member. Risers extending from the member seat on the sliding tray of a disc drive unit, ensuring that the cleaning pad contacts the lens at its upper most path of travel.

Abstract: Device for cleaning heads of disc drive units. The device comprises a substantially round member having dimensions which allow insertion of the device into the receiving area of a disc drive unit. The member has a central elongated aperture which permits reciprocating movement of the member when fully inserted in the receiving area of the disc drive unit. The cleaning device may also have notches on its outer periphery for clearing internal projections of the disc drive. A cleaning surface, preferably comprising a removable, self adhesive strip of a fibrous material, is attached to at least one surface of the member. A shield is present on the same surface of the member as the cleaning strip for protecting the cleaning strip from damage upon entry or release of the cleaning device from the receiving area of the disc drive unit.

Abstract: A variable-pitch, multi-blade propeller specially usable as a rear rotor of a rotary-wing aircraft and a process for manufacturing the same are described. The propeller comprises a number of pairs of blades emanating from a central hub, each pair comprising a single elongate strip secured at its center to the hub. The strip is composed of two flat bundles of fibres and defining an aperture for a sliding shaft at their center. The shaft is used to control the pitch angles of the blades and aerodynamic blade shells are secured to the fibre bundles by adhesive synthetic cellular or foam material.

Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed which provides an improved means of measuring the operating characteristics of a multiplicity of thermocouple reference junctions. The apparatus allows accurate sensing of temperature through use of both a measurement and reference junction thermocouple arrangement. The reference junction thermocouples are collectively encased and surrounded by an insulating medium which on one side abuts a metal plate serving as a heat sink of appreciable mass. The operating temperature of the heat sink is then monitored by a temperature sensitive resistor. Voltage drop across the resistor is convertible into a measure of system calibration.

Abstract: A tail light system for a vehicle which indicates the severity of braking action of the equipped vehicle. Multiple tail lights are each operated by individual switches linked to the hydraulic brake system so that the quantity or color of the indicated lights is responsive to the pressure of the hydraulic brake system, with each switch responsive to a different hydraulic pressure.
