Abstract: Colored condensation polymers useful as replacements for waxes in a thermal wax transfer process, said polymers being obtained by reacting a polymerizable lactone or a hydroxyalkanoic acid with a dye containing at least one active hydrogen atom.

Abstract: A process for the manufacture of the heterocyclic compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, lower alkyl or phenyl, which comprises simultaneously decarboxylating and dinitrating a compound of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R has the meaning stated above, and finally hydrolyzing off the acyl group.

Abstract: Triphenodioxazine dyes which, in the free acid form, have the formula: ##STR1## wherein A is Cl or Br; Y is cyclopentylene, cyclohexylene or (CH.sub.2).sub.x where x is 2, 3 or 4; andZ is NRCO.sub.2 R.sup.1 or ##STR2## wherein R is H, optionally substituted alkyl or optionally substituted aryl;R.sup.1 is optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl or optionally substituted aryl; andR.sup.2 is --CH.dbd.CH--,--CH.dbd.CH--CH.sub.2 --,--(CH.sub.2)--.sub.2-4 or a 1,2-radical of a 5 or 6 membered carbocyclic compound;or, when Y is cyclopentylene or cyclohexylene, Z may also be H or alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, aryloxy, cycloalkyl, cycloalkoxy or amino, all of which may be optionally substituted.

Abstract: Disperse monoazo dyestuffs, free from carboxylic and sulphonic acid groups, derived from 3,5-dinitro-2-amino thiophene as disazo component and an arylamine coupling component exhibit superior properties when used to give colorations to textile materials such as secondary cellulose acetate and cellulose triacetate, polyamide and aromatic polyester textile materials, said colorations having excellent fastness to light and to wet and dry heat treatments. The dyestuffs also have high tinctorial strength and excellent dyeing and build-up properties and produce depths of shade which are relatively independent of the dyebath pH, or the temperature of the dyebath or the liquor ratio of the dyebath.
