Abstract: A system and method employing a software-coloring tool designed to automatically display specified background color tints to all documents and windows displaying white backgrounds on any image display unit including but not limited to desktop, laptop, tablet and handheld computers, televisions, telephones, and other handheld technology using a computer readable medium. The software-coloring tool is provided on computer readable medium or is downloadable from websites. A specific range of natural colors are provided as software-based image overlays in an easy-to-access selection process designed to provide users a reading environment that reduces stress and discomfort related to reading on image display units, particularly to those suffering headaches, stress and fatigue caused by or associated with Computer Vision Syndrome, Irlen Syndrome/Scotopic Sensitivity, or other visual impairments or discomfort. The software color wizard determines the optimal color for each individual.
