The software-coloring tool is provided on computer readable medium or is downloadable from websites. A specific range of natural colors are provided as software-based image overlays in an easy-to-access selection process designed to provide users a reading environment that reduces stress and discomfort related to reading on image display units, particularly to those suffering headaches, stress and fatigue caused by or associated with Computer Vision Syndrome, Irlen Syndrome/Scotopic Sensitivity, or other visual impairments or discomfort. The software color wizard determines the optimal color for each individual.
